From imaging resource:
"That sensor is mounted, as I mentioned, on an improved anti-shake mechanism for from 2 to 3.5 stops of additional exposure "help" as you try to shoot in low light, countering every detected twitch. "

was wondering if anyone can confirm this statement in the sony website.

Looks good...looks like minolta ahem sony is back in the game. ;)

From Imaging Resource!:

"Shots from our test camera were pretty noisy at high ISO, and the camera took an agressive move against that noise that is typical of Sony cameras. The resulting images have smooshed detials and a watercolor apperance at ISO 800 and 1,600. "

Wonder hows the noise compared to KMD5D at high ISO..

it is definately better than KM5D. The KM5D uses a very old sony sensor. Besides at 10meg resolution, if you down sample the pic to 6meg, it will make the noise more fine grained and easier to remove.

the external flashes looks like exact replicas of previous 5600 and 3600. would it be wise to quickly grab one of those KM versions now b4 the only ones left are those slightly more expensive sony versions?

that will defeat the purpose of the eyestart feature since it will block off the eye sensor
nothing a penknife can't solve. wah maybe should have stocked up on more eyecups... wonder if they'll fit the alpha... sell for 5x the price :bsmilie:

From dpreview, I see that A100 is using a pentaprism. So I guess users would get a brighter view.

They are using a penta mirror. Read this from Sony specifications for the A100.

Hhmmm.. the accessory list doesn't list a vertical handgrip.

Is a vertical handgrip important for you?

I'm actually on the verge of upgrading to a DSLR. Looking for a system with kit lens, a 70-200 F2.8 for indoor events and another long telephoto zoom lens (must have IS/VR if it's Canon or Nikon) covering 300mm up to about 400mm for sports and wildlife.

I was waiting to see how Sony lenses would be priced. I thought they would be very competitively priced against the IS/VR lenses from Canon and Nikon since they don't need IS/VR as the stabiliser is already built into the Sony camera body.

Looks like I've to seriously look into a Canon system if I were to upgrade before 2006 is out.

Depend on how well the build of the body. Am using 350D, no vertical grip make the weight distribution and fingers at awkward position.

But it's good to have if shooting a lot of portrait.

Probably if Alpha100 sell like hotcake, 3rd party grip will come out ;)
