anyone knows whether there's third party batts for the E-510... the originals is way out of my budgets...

As this is another discussion about the E-510, I have decided to merge the thread into the existing "All E-510" discussion...
You don't find it incredibly confusing now?![]()

why noise reduction off? I thought this is only for long exposure right?
Lei Antonio said leaving it on will affect shot to shot time even if exposure less than 1 sec.
Just got my E510 a few days ago.
Is there anyway to make the AEL button work normally during live view, ie as a metering lock button instead of AF?
I want access to my spot metering during live view.
The E330 live view A is better implemented as you can AF using half shutter press and spot metering using the AEL button. Why didn't olympus implement AF with a half shutter press on the E510? Just flip up the mirror and AF when there is a half shutter press and lock the AF. The the operation will be similar to when using a viewfinder.
It is currently confusing because the forum software does not allow thread like merging. But after a little while, the order will come back. Sorry for making life a little more difficult now.
Sorry I did not try this out first and may not have understood your requirement.
It is possible to set in menu 'spanner1' the various S-AF modes (mode 2 for you?) to lock metering and press AEL/AFL once (if AEL/AFL memo is ON) to memorise metering then use shutter for S-AF (page 77)
