Did you know that the E-510 is probably that only DSLR with in-body IS that allows the user to see for himself visually the effect of the IS on the image? This is possible in LiveView mode - just press and hold the IS button and the stabilisation effect could be seen in the image on the LCD screen. ;)

Great pics!!! I can concur that the IS works very well. At 1/20 or 1/5, the IS works wonders. I've tested using the 14-54mm, 40-150mm and the 50mm.

YOU ROCK!!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE SAMPLES!!! LOVE THE CAT!!

the macro with IS is juz what the dr ordered. :bsmilie:

wow the cat and remote control pics are really nice.

got to test the E510 IS today at 1/5s with the kit lens at 42mm, and i'm really impressed by the sensor-shift IS. good stuff

WOW!! Impressive!!

But I'll still hold on for the E-whatever... ;)

Get the E-510 now and then get the E-1 successor when it's available and keep the E-510 as a back-up. ;)

Buy Buy Buy!!!! Before GST goes up and before Nets increase prices. Some of the retailers I talked to were saying that its not possible for them not to up the price after the hike in Nets.

On a side note... i wonder how many colonies of germs are on that remote of yours.... YUCK!! Get it cleaned!!!! =)

Well, depends on whether you really need it now or not. If you do, then buying it now without the extra +2% GST will be a saver. But if not, you could wait till, say, end-of-year when the price has gone down 10-20% (or equivalently, when better freebies are bundled) -that is still more of a savings even with the +2% GST.

Roughly how long is the lag time in the E-510's Live View between pressing the shutter button and the picture actually being taken?

True.... I was talking about those getting poisoned and want to buy now. Hahahaha....

All the cats photos very nice lah... makes me like cats... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Actually, it is quite fast.... too fast to accurately time mentally... I estimate maybe about 0.25s or less. When the shutter button is pressed, the mirror flips, the camera focuses and exposes to take the picture... a couple of seconds later, the mirror flips down again.

But you do know this is not what I'm referring to in that post, don't you?
