Sorry, browse the forum again and find thread for RM-1 ($40), with link http://olyflyer.blogspot.com/2007/07/how-to-make-your-own-rm-1-compatible.html for alternative. But anybody has any luck find original one?
Any one knows whether dead pixel on LCD and dust in lens is covered by warranty??
dunno leh. I also curious about the answer. For sigma confirmed dust in lens is not covered by warranty so I don't think this is covered usually.
For olympus dust on sensor is covered by warranty, I think, as I got my E330 and E510 cleaned FOC. Other brands must pay I think.

just to clarify I did not see dust on my sensor but on my viewfinder. I think the mirror attracts dust fairly easily and sometimes hard to blow away. So I send it to olympus for cleaning.
But I remember owning a 2nd hand old E300 (no warranty) with dust on the sensor and cleaning it successfully myself.
Did you try The Camera Workshop?
Got my wannabe rm-1 (jianisi) remote shutter...here is a short review
Size: 3.3x8.5x0.6cm (taller than rm-1, abt the same size as apple mac remote n fit into my palm ok). Package comes with remote, battery and lame instruction (I have to browse the internet to find out what the buttons are for). Comes with one button less (no channel button), the rest most important buttons functions par excellence.
Tried to widen effective area, 60º with shorter distance and it still works (indoor). So if u r thinking of getting rm-1, considers another option.
