Alaska in Winter!

#1 and #2 is really like walking on thin ice ya?

5. Taken near the coast. Sheets and chunks of ice floats in the sea, and a huge blanket of fog covers the sky... the fog cleared a little during sunset.

Nice, the mixture of warm light and cool water/ice~

13. I really loved the colors in the sky of this photo. Again, due to the angle of the sun, I always see colors like this often.

Just wondering, what is that 3 lines on the right? :)

A thread to camp again! :bsmilie:

The ice isn't that thin... I think. Haha. I can't see the underside, so I can't tell whether it could have supported my weight... but no risk, no gain :)

The 3 lines are from the cables running through... I guess I should edit them out

#7 and the star trails are great!

Holy cow ... these are truly awesome!!!!!!
The scenery series are two thumbs up, the beautiful colours ooh la la
You do have dust on your sensor though, upper right, should be simple to PP them away

Amazing stuff and so rich series of shots. It is like a mini holiday going throgh yours photos and stories. Do they claim Santa is from Alaska...oh now...it comes from Lapland Finland from place called Korvatunturi. Believe me or not .

It does look thin to me. If i am on top, i guess, it may sink. :bsmilie:

Yea, no risk, no gain. for your spirit.

Oh, i tot so too but i didn't see the cable poles, so i wonder what they were.

I think i do see a bit of the pole now, near the edge of the mountain in silhouette.

Hmm, not easy to edit them out i guess. cos of the different beautiful gradual colours~

Anyway, nice~ Camping here to see more. :D

Thanks for the free tour, I save quite a lot of money after seeing your photo.
Dunno what about other think but I think this a great series!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the virtual tour.

#1: my favourite. Loves the colour and the composition
#5: nice composition
#17: is this taken during the day or the exposure was compensated by the camera? As I understand it the Northern Lights are usually not bright enough to be seen in daytime
#26: Interesting fact but how does plug the car to the power point heat up the car? :dunno: Initially when I first saw the photo thought they were going green - using electric car :bsmilie:

PS: Thread like this should be banned, makes me go green with envy and bad for my pockets :bsmilie:.
PPS: Unfortunately, had always been a bit masochistic, subscribed

one more destination added to my list to visit

im flying off in 8hours towards northeastern china, so im expecting similarly cold weather, though not as cold as -30.... =P

Not sure about Santa, but the North Pole here is the official North Pole, and the Santa shop used to be operated by 2 old couples... sadly, the wife passed away recently, and right after that, the government stopped funding the operations of the shop.
