Hi Jackals... I guess you're new here so I think you might have missed this:

We ARE in Consumers Corner...

MS Color is for me. Good and friendly staff. Can try the stuff there and don't buy... no problems. I deal mostly with Jackson.

nv tried MS, but buy my stuff from AP. You do get ignored during weekends when there are tons of pple. Try weekdays or after office hrs. There should be less pple. Look for steven. A friendly guy but make sure do your homework frist before going down.

It all boils down to price vs service. At places like Best Denki or Harvey Norman, you can get really good service but then you have to pay at or almost the list price. For the S3, it is $849.

Lower down, you get shops like Cathay Photo or John 3:16. Good service and cheaper price.

After that, you get places like MS Colour. Even cheaper price but sometimes the shop is crowded. Most people report good service but there are reports of bad service. Probably depends on your luck. For the S3, it is $760.

Finally, you have Alan Photo. Most of the time, the cheapest. For the S3, it is $755. Personally, I have no bad experience. But I agree that the place is extremely crowded during peak hours. The salespeople there basically have no time to patiently take you through the camera. This cannot be helped. The number of buyers far outnumber the salespeople. So you do your homework first and go there ready to buy. Do not expect them to be able to give you the same standard of service as the others.

While many of you are willing to pay a little more for better service, the fact remains that for many Singaporeans, we will put up with a little "bad service" if it means a lower price! Or if the CEO of Air Asia puts it, many of us (actually he said M'sians) will risk our lives to fly Air Asia if he lowers the airfares sufficiently.

Er...... Isn't that......????

Sorry that my post have mislead some to think that it was possible. That was what I was told by a friend. But after checking with MS, they confirm that they do not do such things! Please forgive me for my wrong info!!!:thumbsd: (Although I wish that could be true :) )

MS Color gets my vote but they made me go down personally just to place order for a battery grip. I ended up buying from Cathay.

Just call them to ask the price before getting there. At least for allan, it works. Very often, they quote the items cheaper on the phone.

Thank you James, but I like to let you know that this thread was originally in the Canon Sub forum. It was later moved here (to its rightful location) by the mods.

So I'll accept yr apologies any time you want to offer it James. And I hope you'll exercise discretion esp when a post was among the first few. Some Taiwanese joker may have said Singaporeans are stupid, but that doesn't appy to everyone.

So I hope you'll be a gentleman and do the right thing. An honest mistake on yr part, I understand.
