hi can I ask? what is the best humidity for camera? I read the manual they indicate that 45-55% is for camera lens etc etc is it correct?
After purchase maintenance . . . :)

why doubt the manual? the manual isn't wrong. fungus will start growing from 60% onwards fyi.

If you have nothing inside, humidity should stabilize pretty quick. If you've got more stuff in there, it might take longer to stabilize.
Yup I have check this morning, whenever I check it is at 44% - 45%. I have not put in the camera yet, as I wanna check within 24 hrs if the dry cabi is working well lol..

Just make sure you give ur camera/lens a good wipe if it gets wet or damp after use and leave the rest to the dry cabi

You mean you set the knob fix but it fluctuates between 40 - 45%, ok think will make a habit to clean with a dry cloth before putting in the dry cabi.
anyway got a enquiry to ask all, any not bad to good microfibre cloth to intro? Gotta get one. The one I have come from free bundled, casing say gosh! but seems very lousy. The texture is not the smooth type like we use for our specs... i tried to wipe the lens(exterior part of the lens) yesterday after using the cam, not sure if it is the light or the cloth has cause scratches on the lens! damn worry sia now! Never do anything except wiping it softly. Have also ensure there is no particles on the cloth and lense before wiping leh! Hope that I see wrongly and it is not scratches.

hmm not sure if im helping u anot.. just wondering, did you use any UV filter? if yes i dont see the reason to wipe your lens lei. for me i always wipe the filter after shooting and use the blower on the lens to blow away the dust..
as for the microfibre cloth maybe u can check tagotech $5 for it. for me i got it from daiso =x

At least mine does fluctuate between (never once it hits below 40%) 40%-46%. For instance, 42% in the morning when I wake up, and 44% when I return home after work.
I hope it's just oil stains on your lens/filter...Another tip for wiping lens, dun rub/wipe too hard....else the coating all come out. You will see some multicolored layer against the light at a certain angle if the UV coating is wears off, but It doesn't affect Image Quality (at least to me)...
btw, I think it's also hard to ensure that there are no particles on the cloth (try to imagine fine grain of sand..) and I also think you need alot of strength to actually create a scratch on a filter...
Later will go back and check the dry cabi..

Ps * i am not using a uv filter either. I have one, but it is a digivi power something sort.. I thought this brand would degrade the Image quality so i did not use.

I had already input my cam into the dry cabi. I notice it is quite fixed at RH 40%.. we need to factor a + or - 6 issit?
Cause I am worry that RH is too low, and cause rubber or any lubrication to dry up and cause the cam to unable to function.
Can help to advise me? thanks!

40% seems A BIT low but not too terrible I think. If it's stable at 40, try turning the dial up a bit and see if it can stabilize around 45?
thanks for the advice zerocool, i notice now it is at RH44 % lol not sure if i should try to make it stablise ard 45% ?
Sorry this is my first ever dry cabi i am using, if i am going to make it at 45% i suppose turn a little towards anti clockwise?

I think as long as you are around that range 40-50, should be quite ok.
I think mine is about 48 or something. It fluctuates slightly.
1) the hygrometer may not be 100% accurate

My guess is that if you want to completely prevent fungal growth, no humidity would do the job. But don't forget the rubber on your camera and lenses need a certain level of humidity to not disintegrate into little powdery pieces.
Yes, am afraid that RH is too low and the rubber and the any lubricants will be gone.. when it stable @ 40% i did see that it fluctuate to 37% and it went back..
Think need a good grasp of this... trial error only..

my dry cabi's RH had been around 38-43% for at least a year already, n they r still functioning well, probably because i tend to take them out at least once every week n play around with them for abit before storing them away again. the RH levels will be more of a concern if u r going to store them for an extended period of time like say at least 2 months without taking it out even once.
yup think on and off will be taking the cam out once every week..it currently stay at 41% quite stable..heard some of the bros here saying 40 - 45% is fine..

mine i set 48% sometime will drop to 45 sometime increase to 50. i just leave it
