I would prefer Gold than red. Hope that Nikon can coat it with 24K gold rim for their future professional lens

When the light / sun shines on Nikon lens that glitter is just irresistible

Haha, to compromise, how about gold and red? Machiam Iron man.:bsmilie:

Lens belong to my ah bang, bought over from japan by AP + shipping = $2900.

Comments:
Notice the consistent performance of the lens? Constant sharpness is guaranteed in almost every shot (provided you do your basics right). VR helps a lot! Colors are saturated. Even chromatic abberation is pretty well controlled (in Pic 02). Bokeh is nice and smooth (examine the circular lights in the backgrounds... They don't look like condom rings).

Are these enough to tell you more about this fantastic lens? Hee hee hee...

Sorry, chromatic abberation or purple fringing in Pic 03, not Pic 02. Typo...

indeed it is a beautiful piece of glass

Black looks more seductive ma ..
I actually bought the black over the grey one previously

I still like my Nikon disguised as a Canon. :bsmilie: all i need is a red rubber band.

haha......:)

In case cannot find rubber band, can consider red bean - machiam Leica.

IQ will tends to be lacking if were to use a TC on this lens..
Is that true?
Wat advise can give if still wants to use the TC in order to get abit of zoom dist..?

indeed this is very poisonous. to get black or to get white , that the question.

Actually, that time when i was buying, i wanted to get the white (actually, it is more GREY than white leh) one.

However, some shops or seller charged 200-300 bucks more for the white one. And even if the white and black one quoted to me was same price, it is at the more expensive shops and also, need about 4-6 weeks to get the lens from Japan man...

So i ended up with the black one (actually, a bit of a brownish black under the sun leh)

Cannot remember if I have any images shot at 200mm... Need to find through my heaps of images in my HDD... If I have, I will post up. If not, then too bad... :p

I was standing at a few metres away from my subjects. I think roughly 3 ~ 4 metres in average.

The light grey/white lens idea is one of the most stupid marketing decisions by Nikon ever.

Its glorifying essentially what Canon has made famous for its elite lenses.

Nikon can never gain anyting out of it, I dont understand why they made this colour.

It only cheapens itself ...... not by association with Canon, but Trying to look the same thinking that professionals are attracted by white lenses because of the colour ! Nikon digital Had Been losing at the professional end (though low / mid end is a different story) , thats soemthing every blind man can see. Wake up Nikon! D3 is way overdue.

Sorry for the OT. I have intense sentiment about White Nikons.

Here is a shot done at 200mm wide open just yesterday in my neighborhood
Shot at high ISO with abit of flash, might not be as clean as compared to better lightings
