Anyone recently bought nikon 85 f1.4G lens from hk? which shop? noted from this link that it is HKD11,200 approx S$1876 at 5.97 rates

The HK price is always cheaper.
Note that it is before 7% GST and cost for shipment to Singapore.
Of course you could go there and buy, with additional cost for returned air tickets.

Anyone tried Nikon 85mm f1.4 Ais before? It has been reviewed as better than the f1.4d version. Not sure if better than this G version.

They said at least for weddings, able to track couple walking down the aisle with con't AF much better than the AF-D. So depends on your usage.

I owned AFD, and have tried AFS.

The AFS one is focusing slower indeed.

As mentioned by some review websites, AFS is slower because it takes time to lock on the focusing accuracy at f1.4. Hence, depend you want speed or accuracy. I would prefer accuracy for using it to take portraits.
