MTF looks ok - but perhaps still not up to Sigma 50/1.4 wide-open.

haha at least Nikon SIngapore didn't make such a mistake!

anyone spotted the error at Nikon USA yet? :)

whoops... here's the post I was referig to...

"geepeers!

Nikon USA in the rush to put up the new AF-S 50mm F1.4 made two very terrible mistakes on the main AF-S 50mm F1.4 product page and the Tech Specs tab...

If they haven't seen them and changed them, the glaring mistakes could still be there...
(If they have already changed it, haha I've already made screen capture)

Can you spot them?
:bsmilie:

Here is the link"

can only spot one....

"AF-S (Silent Wave Motor) | No"

i lol at this one since that's the feature that's going to change many people's lives (literally, for d40,70,60 users)

think the other one may be this....

"Internal Focusing | No"

according to dpreview, the lens groups move but not the front elements don't move and barrel length doesn't change.

wah, now we have spot the mistakes contest :bsmilie:

haha you are right!

it happened twice - once inside the Tech Specs tab the other is actually just next to the picture of the lens "AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G"

haha sorry don't have any prizes to give - the only prize is just the fun in trying to spot the errors and having a laugh at how Nikon USA made such a glaring mistake in their rush to get the info up on their site!

think Nikon uSA will reware with a AF-S 50mm f/1.4G for spotting those mistkas? :bsmilie:

AF Nikkor instead of AF-S Nikkor?

After the Sigma 50/1.4, I must say I am a little underwhelmed... Does it not look a bit too plasticky to you -- like the 1.8 version? I guess there is still a market for good Zeiss ZF primes afterall.

Ahaha, sorry I left those out. Out of my pocket league... :(

Thanks for the correction.

I was hoping for 9 rounded blades, so glad it does :)

it does look a bit plasticky, but it's certainly 'meatier' than the current 50/1.4 (weight wise)

and not to take anything away from 'made in china' goods, the current 50/1.4 does have that 'cheapened' feel...

current 50/1.4 certainly doesn't have the solid build or feel of the old 50/1.4 AIS or the 50/1.2 or 55/1.2 :D

My AF 50mm/1.4 copy is made in japan also the same plasticky feel. It is the design.

They should really take a look at Pentax's LE lenses. Though none as fast as F/1.4 but the feeling is simply fantastic

nikon should replace the f/1.8 as well

AF-S 50mm f/1.8G ;p
