Hi, im new to the photography scene.. have a few questions hope you all can enlighten me.

Im quite new to all this, so regarding a camera, i would like to purchase perhaps a prosumer camera.. any recommendations? my budget would most prob be about $700.

which shop would you guys recommend too?

thanks and regards...

Drop by the shops to try it out. :) popular model include panasonic lx5, canon g12, canon s95.

Read online reviews to shortlist a few before heading to the stores.

Do you want something small yet feature-packed, or are you ok with a more "DSLR-lookalike" prosumer, like Canon's Powershot SX series?

Hi for yr budget canon s95 and panny lx5 are very good choices.

If you expand your budget a bit, you can get Dslr quality (though not really as compact if you get kit 18-55) on Sony nex3/5

im thinking of the g12... is it recommendeD?

I've a G10. There are enough custom controls to learn the basics of photography. If you are looking for something more compact, then S95 will be your choice

Personally, you might be able to get a 2nd hand DSLR. it will be gd to start with that~
I got lobang if you wish. just send me a message =)
