Dear all,

Thinking to buy an entry mirrorless camera to capture mostly travelling and scenery usage. as i m newbie here, thus hopefully camera is easy to use, lightweight ( easy to carry ) and provide a good quality of images. Any advice? :)

Thank you in advance to all Pro photographer.

Best Regards,
Sunnyday

The Sony A6000 with the 16-50 (equivalent to 24-75mm in FF) is $899 or less.

Any thoughts on Fujifilm X-T100? Will it be difficult to handle for beginner? :)

The Sony is dated but still a capable camera however given that you want a camera to capture scenery it does one better than sony.Granted it does not focus as fast as sony but XT100 kit lens is an under rated one because A6000 kit lens is 16-50mm (equivalent to 24-75mm 35mm format) which is wide enough but
XT100 is 15-45mm (equivalent to 22.5 -67.5mm) this 2.5mm wider makes a noticeable difference when it comes to wide angle view especially landscapes and interiors so you don't need to buy an ultrawide angle lens. Plus the viewfinder is double the resolution of A6000 and LCD screen can fold out 180 degrees for selfies which A6000 cannot! It also has a pop up flash like A6000 in case you need extra light. Do note that XT100 is using a Bayer sensor like A6000 which is different from the premium fuji models famous Xtrans sensor. None-the-less fuji 's implementation of bayer sensor is unique and at the same time offer fuji's famed film simulations which impart fuji's own colour films look of the past. What you get is a new 2018 camera with a kit lens that beats most kit lens out there although it' s mostly made of plastic.;) The layout of controls is very intuitive to learn photography. Since it's an entry level camera you can't expect top performance for the price and it's a capable camera in the right hands.:) It does not have a contoured grip built in but you can always add one which is more comfortable if you have big hands.

Any of the entry level cameras + kit lens of the major manufacturers are targeted at the newbie market and will meet your requirements. With their full auto modes just point and shoot, however they also offer more features when you want to learn more. Try them out and see which one you're most comfortable with. You might also consider some of the advanced compacts like Canon G7X series, Sony RX100 series or Panasonic LX10, they are even more compact and still offer more advanced modes when needed.

Reading some reviews seems like the Fuji XT100's interface is a bit laggy, try it and see if it bothers you, if not happy shopping :)

Thanks for your good and careful advice. Appreciated. :) . Will go to have a try first before making my final decision.

Btw, Can i know what software shall be use/recommended when we process the raw photo after taking shoot?

Thank you.

Do note XT100 has Bayer sensor like most cameras. You can use Dark Table or Raw Therapee both of which are free but expect little support as it depends whether
developer wants to uddate the features or not. Users comments are that they use both for different features and capabilities of each. PS you can shoot Raw and jpeg together that way you can see how photo turn out.By shooting Raw you can also process jpeg in camera as many times as you wish using film simulations
until you are happy with it.Of course depending on memory card capacity but do have a spare battery to take along as mirrorless do use up significant power. You can also set camera to toggle between viewfinder and LCD for convenience.

I use Adobe Photoshop to process the RAW files from the camera. You can also use Adobe Lightroom to do the same for RAW files.

Cheers

Every camera comes with image processing software from vendor. Use this as a first start, learn the basics and workflow, then decide what to use next. There are free software products that have enough features for the occasional and hobby shooter and there are the feature-loaded products from Adobe and others with varying price tags, subscription etc. Start small, learn, make knowledgeable decisions.

do consider the 2nd hand market and/or a Micro 4/3 camera
