Anyone purchase any lens or camera from Adorama? I'm thinking of getting the SONY A100 from Adorama.. and idea if they ship directly to Singapore?

Just wonder if SONY Singapore will accept the warranty if I get the camera from US?

Ever heard from friend usa impose some sort of limited warranty.
(for majority of the electronic product valid only within usa)
sony does have international warranty however not sure does ithave any limitation or not

Yes they ship to Singapore. But it will cost a fair bit.

If you can wait, use VPost. It saves some money. Normally takes 2.5wks via this method.

Brought 2nd lens from them before, post through Vpost. You have to take note of the 5% GST though. :sweat:

But this year sure got 1 or 2 new bodies.

Still no body got confirm info on whether they will release the info in the coming PMA. But I still think they are likely to announce some info soon.
If not how do they come out one/two new bodies to sell this year.

How much are they charging with shipping ? Saw their used A-100 is from US$699 which is not that great a deal.

Singapore is selling S$1.5K for body only... and this US price is only around $1050.00.

looking at the price of Alpha, still hv not go down

Alpha 100 won't really go down a lot unless a replacement model coming soon, but most rumour think that it will be a higher end and lower end of Alpha 100, so it just fit in nicely. I think Alpha 100 replacement will be out next year or later.

Good, more time for me to safe money, eating grass because of keep buying lens lately.

Got my A-100 body only from KL for around S$1100. No problem with the tourist warranty as well, as I had sent in my A-100 for service in Singapore as well.

For the Singapore price, if you can sell off both freebies it will work out to be around the same price. Just wonder why $ONY $ingapore still insists on holding on to the same selling price. Are they selling that well ? :think:

dunno if u guys notice this... but its kinda strange u can't 'bargain' price with Sony products here... but overseas, Sony's price can bargain 1, and cheaper by alot too... everywhere you go in sg, they always say, fixed price, controlled price, etc...

It's just like plane tickets... buying SIA tickets overseas is definitely cheaper than buying locally. Maybe no competition?

All the others like N, C, P are coming out with no less than 1 new body a year if not wrong.
And if sony is not coming out any, then they will lose out the competition.

You are right on this. When I bought my camera in the KL shop and told them about the pricing in Singapore, they are very surprise by it as well. Over there definitely can bargain.

Over here in Singapore, the shops do "gang" up together to control price. Recently bought a P&S and the shop that I bought from was very unhappy on the price and bundle I quoted by her competitor. The shop owner said something like there is a gentlemen agreement on the selling price between them (which is lower than listed price) and yet they(competitor) break the agreement.
