Bro, we went there at 10am and adopted the cat at 11:30am... at that time they were worried that no one would adopt them cos we were only the second adoptees. Good to know so many were adopted!

Uncle Catz, cannot get more lah... my house so small... ;p Wah! 8kg, not cat already... is sumo cat!!

 for a fellow cats lovers!

Yeh. Cats are so nice and independant. Different characteristics.

Haiz, I can only have one now. Hope to adopt more when I have my own house.

Also, they are nice photographic subjects...emotionful. haha

Regards,
tltan

We once had 10, so I've experienced it... unfortunately my wife is allergic to cat fur (but still she wanted Tuxedo... :bsmilie: )

Thanks, bro Icarus... and tltan, you're right, they are so independent.

Bro Azure, sounds like you know Tuxedo? :D
Yep.
I used to shoot a lot for CWS. Many of the pix in their book The Real Singapore Cat are from me. Sterilisation, trapping, foster, adoptions, photo'ed them and done them all.

He looks so proud. I like it!

Awesome! I was thinking of offering my help as well... You'll be glad to know he's taken to the family like fish to water. :)

pardon the picture quality - phone camera...

Thanks, LeZy... :)

Have you tried? They might hiss for a few days but most likely they'll end up being friends. I started with 2 and over the years have added 9 to the family and that's my experience...

hee...well, yeah, i started out with smookie (my avatar) when she was very young. picked her up from an estate. then when my bro shifted, he couldn't feed the neighbourhood cats anymore and there was some talk of someone calling the authorities (there were like...10-20 cats there!) so we took in cow-cow cuz he's a squeaker. heehee. she was very hostile...and they still do fight, but generallly get along..i think they have a love-hate relationship really. n u'll hardly see them grooming each other or sitting on the same bed/chair after all these years.

This is cow-cow

i'm tempted to bring in another 2 cats..but i think my parents will kill me. hah.

Went to the Purina Cat Championships at the Expo today.... Never expected to bring ANYTHING back home since we already have 5 cats...

Walked to the CWS (www.catwelfare.org) exhibit and before you know it, a BIG black cat called Tuxedo followed us home. And he's huge! About 7 kgs!! Now we've got a mini black panther in the house. Very lovable and tame... A paddler. Those with cats will know what I mean.

Meet Tux! ;p (Those on 15" 1024x768... this photo is actual size!)

Look at it this way.... if u can cope with 2, why not 4? They dont cost alot to feed or upkeep, need no attention or walks, either 1 hairball or 4 hairballs still is cleaning, and importantly, YOU are their proud n joy!

Trust me. When u leave the house one day, yr parents will thank you for the company the catz will bring.

Cheers

That is good. Better so than to have him out on the streets. Too friendly with humans = significantly higher risk of abuse (of any kind).

Now I just do my outings, though I usually request participants to refrain from naming the locations of the strays we encounter... but sometimes, you see irresponsible individuals. For the same reason I do not showcase my collection of cat pix. Good enough for me that every couple of months, a foreign buyer will snap up a couple of 12x18s.

I'll still help out CWS or the caregivers I know when need arise, or when they ask. Otherwise, I just stick to sponsoring the sterilisation of a handful of strays every year, and/or medication and other costs, of those cats in the areas whose caregivers I'm on close terms with. That is across the whole of Sg.

Meanwhile, if you want to help them, buying a few copies of the book is a godsend for the strays, as the bulk of the money will go to sterilisation efforts. I hope there still enough copies left. On a parallel note, I think there is another member (Marc-something, I think) who is also close to CWS.

Just ordered a copy from Corrinne (Tux's former mum) and am going to pick it up tomorrow!!

Seems like quite a bit of animal welfare people in CS :D perhaps its time or organise a meeting :bsmilie: (prefebly after exam period :bheart: )
