Er~~ Bro, i know how it feels when people high beam you to give way.. But since there are no cars on your left and especially so when you are traveling on the NS highway where traveling at 160km/hr is the norm, we as foreigners better to keep to your left lane. Peace for you and others. Why because of "yi kou qi" then get into unnecessary trouble. Cheers~~
I think he should be as pissed as you ;p jus joking.. Thinking in his shoes, it might be quite irritating that he needs to brake (waste brake pads), close and re-open throttle (waste petrol) because you were blocking him.. And since he was closing in at you, I assume he should be no less than 150kph.
I would be dangerous for him to try and overtake you from the left cause you might know he's coming and want to give way to him, then "BANG". High beam you might be to let u know early he's coming so that he doesn't have to brake or close throttle.. I think flickering high beam is still better than horning..
Once I was driving along the NS highway on the right lane at about 140 kmph, and the whole stretch of road was empty except me, when a car came from behind, flicking its high beam at me...at first I thot of giving way to him, but then I thot ,wtf, he can overtake me on the left if he's so fxxking in a hurry...as he passed me on the left, I saw its a SG merc, and that was when I showed him the middle finger....![]()
Hi Bro chaozhoi - u only think in his shoes, leh, u never think in my shoes - I was enjoying my Tom Cruise - need for speed - drive, and with him highbeaming me, already spoilt my mood, and making me think that maybe the cops are after me, but then again, I think I also owned as much right as him to speed on the right lane ...problem is he's driving a big car and I am driving a small car, so he thot I must give way to him...it's not waste petrol, its a kind of road bullying. Btw, highbeaming in Malaysia highway is considered rude...unless you need to go toilet very urgently...![]()
Anyway, tks, Bros for your kind comments...I think we OT too much from the thread...
You are the type that gives SG drivers a bad name.:thumbsd:

yeah I know...sometimes, emotions takes over logical thinking, esp when the blood pressure starts to rise but luckily these are few and in between....normally I am a safe driver...

Haha.. Well, if I was in your shoes.. there might be 3 things I will do:
1) Speed up and see if he can follow
2) Give way, go behind him, if I can follow, high beam him back and see if he knows how to give way or not
3) If really no match for him.. suck thumb, give way to him and let him pass then continue my 'need for speed'..
so what type are you, bro...the goody-two-shoes type who bends over when someone asked you to....:bsmilie:
You are road hogging the right lane regardless of your speed. Why can't you enjoy your "need for speed" on the left lane since there is no car.
Why need to do all these just because someone "high beamed" you to give way? Just filter left and after he pass, resume the "need for speed". I have a lot of photos of cars looking like scrapped metal. There really isn't a need to engage in dangerous acts on the road because of 一口气。

Obviously you do not understand the driving considerations and culture in M'sia, regardless of whether there is car or not on your left right centre top down bottom sky, you just shift your car away from the right lane so long as there is a faster approaching car. And the reason being so is because:
Firstly, if it's night driving, experienced drivers who go fast on NSH (> 180km/h) will never take the left lane. Because there might be some cars/bikes who go REALLY SLOW on the left with blown out lightings. By the time you see them with your limited headlight visibility it's too late.
Secondly, your vehicle creates a blind spot on the front left area for the fast approaching vehicles from behind. If there is a smaller car or bike on the blindspot, it will be too late to realise and dangerous to swerve out to the left and perform the overtaking maneouvere. So you as the vehicle infront has the responsibility and visibility to give way to cars/motorcycles from behind on the right lane.
Thirdly, it's much more difficult to do a lane change > 180km/h than at your 140km/h. The CG and traction that the vehicle performs the lane changing > 180km/h is much more demanding, do not think that there is a luxury of time to overtake you from the left.
And of all, just shut up if you are going to give all that reasoning as to why must people drive so fast, reckless or dangerously. That is simply how people drive on NSH. You can try telling the M'Sians and SG'reans who often travel on NSH that till the cows come home, because they can clock few hundred kilometres daily and they have to do so many lane changes just because of drivers like you. It's simply a risk people choose to take when they drive fast. The correct thing for you to do is just adapt into the culture and give way.
Also, SG car plate doesn't mean is Singaporean, I have alot of friends n colleagues who drive SG plates and freaking rich as well but are M'sians. You try middle-fingering someone in M'sia, I'm sure you won't come home again.
I think it's more rude if you road hog. It's a norm to highbeam towards Singaporeans, because M'Sians know they always roadhog.
You can either turn on your -> Right signal light to indicate an intention to overtake, or when doesn't budge, highbeam then horn. But usually they see SG car they just highbeam, cause they know it's a waste of time turning on the right signal.

before you start shooting me...pls note a few salient points :-
1. I was going at 140 kmph on an entirely empty stretch of road - (early morning)
2. the Merc was highbeaming me to get out of the right lane
3. he was highbeaming me like 2 km away...(if I was him, I would normally just overtake from the left..but that's me)
btw, I work in Malaysia and drive to and from Singapore practically every 2, 3 days, but that is beside the point. Thanks for your concerns about me middle fingering and not getting back home - that was the only time I did that, but of course the driver was too fast to see it.:bsmilie:
Anyway, no point getting into a argument with bros over driving in a photograhy forum...take more pictures would be better therapy....cheers..![]()
