And also, 70-200VR is not a substitute for a tripod, there are times when I wished I'm using the 70-200VR on a tripod as well. ;)

Bro, is it true that you cannot switch on VR while on a tripod?

A dry box, cheapest is $75 i have seen for a 30L digicab one being sold first hand in buy & sell forum. I guess you can get 2nd hand ones since dry cabinets don't spoil often and they do have 5 years warranty (remember to get warranty card).

Nevertheless, i think Am Pro is being sold at a good price nowadays. I like the black colour finishing. :) $130 for a 45L one, add $5 for delivery. Try to get at least a 45L one, else you will find yourself running out of space once you put a big telephoto in. For me, i just chuck my whole bag in (but don't secure it as you may need to use it fast to capture moments).

Pricing around there. This is from Bossmen.

In theory, mold does not grow when RH drops below 60%.

And yeah, skyestang is correct too. With silica gel, even if you sieve away the fine dust, they will crack once you put into microwave oven to reheat so as to drive away the moisture (you will see them turning from pink to blue again). I mean, i don't see it as a good way of spending time.

Technically you are supposed too.. actually why would you need VR when you are using a tripod?

VR is to be used when you dont have a tripod.. haha.. I have used VR with a tripod before.. and have found no problem with it so far.

Heh maybe it is juz me, but i prefer to skip the tripod and head for the 70-200mm VR :)

prefer on-the-fly shots without setting up equipment. but thats my shooting style, if ur style is shooting long range of birds and other things then get a good solid tripod.

Depending on what is your type of photography.. A tripod is essential to landscape, architectural and product photography.. but not for street or portraiture.. or even events..

.

Nah....coz i read some problems with the pictures if you were to use VR on a stable tripod. The VR needs vibrations to "work", else it'd be unsharp or what. :) hehe..... so if you forget to turn it off then may run the risk of ruining some shots. Not a big deal actually.

Like sometimes i switch to MF. Turn cam off. Turn it on to shoot again and kuku autofocus and snap away without realising.... :sweatsm:
