Hi guys, I am very new in photography. Lately have been tasked by company to take photos of all apparels and footwears.

Can anybody give advices what are the kind of accessories I need to purchase to setup for the clothing photoshoot?

I came across this website where they mention about softbox and a horizontal tripod... is there any budget way in doing this? Or any recommendation of shops I can approach in getting all these accessories?

Thanks! :)

Thanks for the link... but I'm kinda lost when I'm there... Lol
Nevertheless I manage to get TagoTech contact and I've made my inquiries to them.

Oh one more thing... as there is a budget constraint... I'm wondering if the Canon PowerShot is able to do up the same job (something like studio product photos) as a decent DSLR camera should I get the necessary accessories like light tent, softboxes, flash lights etc?

What is your budget? And are you doing it for a one off basis?
If it is a one off basis, you can consider renting a studio to place with the equipment and see what suits you best.

Of course in the long run, getting the equipment will be better, provided you have the space to keep and use them at your discretion.

You can try... Although I don't think the powershot series compacts have flash hotshoes which are needed for mounting and commanding external flashes which are pretty much a need for product photography.

Sadly it is going to be in the long run... hence I will be getting all the necessary equipments for all these work.

I hope to keep it below $500... Lol because we also need to purchase one DSLR... I think if I told my boss it gonna hit $2k... wonder if he will faint. ;p

Ask yr boss what the shots are for. Net or print. If print then recommend DSLR.
Then he can decide a budget and let you run with it?
