Yah went to Wisma and tried the demo set. There were 3 sets in wimsa but 2 sets been reserved and left with 1 set. Tempted to buy but think too expensive and about to walk away. The salesman suddenly ask me whether i am local and has a local bank credit card. He said can pay by 24 mths instalment zero interests. Very evil the salesman! Next thing out came my credit card and came the a99 on my hand. Super impulse buy!

Lolz he tried to pull that stunt on me also but still the price is to exp but good selling point if the 0% interest for 24mtns

Yah it is $3899, the good things about getting from Sony Wisma is the warranty is 2 years + 3 months instead of 1 year + 3 months at the normal retail outlet. I used it at yesterday Singapore Karting Competition Round 4. It is a night race so it is ideal for putting a99 to test. Will be posting soon.

The Sony shop I went too also had an opened new battery for the A99 which was selling at $19. Bought it in a heartbeat

$19 for a brand new battery is damn good. Can just buy without thinking Got more for sale. It must be official Sony Store. One of them is Wisma, I think there is one at Tampines, Suntec, Marina Square.

yeah tried it also at Wisma and like it lolz... feel good on my hands but feels heavy on my wallet lolz. I totally tried hard to resist I have my budget with me that day but luckily the sale guy said he need to go for lunch hahaha (my luck) so he didn't push me hard and no one comes to me alse after that guy... but they are looking at my NEX and Adopted lens hanging arond hehehe.

Anything about the A99 that you feel could have been better? Or facing any problems with it?

A few minor issues that I have so far.
1) The EVF need sometimes to use especially if you are so used to the bright ovf of A850/A900. I like the overlay of histogram. Something I have been wondering why they cannot have all overlay eg histogram, level and setting on one screen. Now is 3 separated display screens.

2) The startup of the camera always got this 1 sec of screen initialisation where you just see the view of where you are pointing and then you will see the last display setting eg the settings will then appear at the side if last display is liveview or the setting display if it is the last display.

3) The change from LCD display to EVF there is a slightly lag but acceptable

4) The change from EVF to LCD display has the same issues as the initial startup.

5) The silent controller currently can only be customised to for 1 setting eg AF mode etc. I thought it something like the NEX centre button can be customised with a few setting. I thought I watched a video which did show the pre production set with such features. Hope Sony can include it in the next firmware update.

6) The multi selector seems a bit filmsy and loose compared to the one on A850/A900

7) Battery life is short. (Official rating is 500 compared to A850's 800). I used 2 full charged batteries for SKC Round 4 and I tried to conserve the battery life by shooting when required. SKC Round 3, I just shoot non stop and i only used about 1 and a half batteries.

I bought from official sony store leh.. but the guy told me warranty only 15 months. When you register online your warranty status is 2year 3 months?

yeah warranty will be a bit troublesome need to convert it to tourist warranty. But if you buy in the airport duty free it comes with international warranty will check it our there also

One thing that trouble me when I was using the A99 @ Wisma maybe just me being noob the selector scroll you need to press the middle button to unlock it and turn it's a bit awkward but good coz when you release your finger the scroll will not turn. So guys pls dont flame me if I got it wrong just that all my cam dont have such features so dont know how to use it hahaha

Not if u buy in some shops..they have the international tourist warranty in their cabinet..sign n company stamp. Done. (that's what i did last year though..when i was there.)

And it works..because i already sent mine in @ Wisma for repair/maintenance 1 month ago.
