A7r mk2

Interesting ! A friend of mines called 313@Somerset and reserved a set on my behalf. They told him I was number 45 too ! How many number 45 could there be on the list ? Could they have more than one list ??? The salesperson also said that the next stock may not be enough to satisfy all the pre-orders... :o :o

got the same reply too. next shipment can't confirm whether sufficient to cater to pre order not talking about walk in. they will go through #1>#2>#3.. so on and you must collect same day.

one thing for sure, this A7RII first two batch was sold out within the same day at most sales channel. :what:

different sales persons may not have updated the "master list"

Just try your luck and hope for the best when you are in Singapore! All the shops are selling at the RRP of 4099 at the moment, so just buy it from any retailer you can find.

lol launch special but no stock

La-ea3 also so hard to find

Hi Lancelot, I am on the list with Click! I just have to cross my fingers... I shall search for Cathay Photo and send them an e-mail too. Thanks for the suggestion, this is very much appreciated.

I'll not haggle, I'll just pay the price. I'd be happy to get it.

Yes, seems rather weird as the launch promotion was extended and will end with only a tiny number of units sold... I am wondering what has caused this. Perhaps Sony should have built up the stock first then announced the release date... Perhaps August was too early given the lack of stock...

Hi, Your name seems to imply that you are a fan of Tamiya RC cars... I did a lot of these whilst I was a teenager, all of them bought from Singapore... SS RC Models was a good Tamiya outlet at Shaw Centre... This was during the late seventies / early eighties. Now the cool thing is that we can install a camera in RC models.

Ricleo, As well as the A7r in my camera bag, I have a NEX-6. The NEX-6 auto-focus is blazingly fast in comparison with both the A7r and NEX-5. So how does the A7r2 auto-focus compare with the NEX-6 or A6000 vs light conditions ? Has anyone done a test and reported results ?

I bought mine from Cathay at 17th Aug, at the time they still have stock.
Tracking of A7R2 is not as good as A6000. single point to point no practical difference.

Just watch a video about the A7R ii. It seems that it has some overheating issue in video mode. It will shut down after 15 to 20 mins depends on weather. Anyone has experience this issue here?

Using any of the current a7 series will experience this. I come across this all the time.

The prolong use of the LARGE LCD is the reason why the overheating occurs.

Once your video is rolling, cover the eye piece to 'shut off' the LCD. You can continue to record without any problem.

You can custom set a button to disable the LCD display.

Hope this helps.

Yup, pull out the LCD will also help if you dont want to shut down the LCD.
Cover the eyepiece is not a good idea though because EVF actually uses more power than LCD.

The overheating issue is a trade-off for small form factor.

actually now you can assign to the custom button a function to switch off the display completely. both LCD and EVF. that should reduce heat, and do that together with the LCD pulled out should be good.

I am aware of that. But sometimes we still need to monitor right?
I guess the best way is to record with external monitor or recorder for serious videographers...
The new Sony FHD5 monitor looks good.

Sharing another shot taken with this awesome camera.
