It does what its supposed to do. Been using these semi hard ones on most of my previous sony systems.
It's like a thick plastic. Doesn't affect clarity or whatsoever.
Yeah I know how ibis works, I got the a7II since day 1 and then sold it 2 weeks ago to get the r2.. So change the display thingy doesn't help, the evf when it's zoomed to 5x it's quite bad, it gets getter when is 12x... The rest of the camera is friggin awesome, I tried my CV 21 f4 and all the color cast is gone!! They also (finally) introduce the new option to decide if you want to take a shot even if the focus is not locked... Stupid Sony before the camera can took a shot even if you put your hands in front of the lens (so no focus lock) finally they have that nowI was able to focus easily with my 21mm Elmarit-Asph lens. Adjust the dioptre first. There isn't a great deal of difference between standard and high setting, with the latter having slightly more details. It is clearer than the evf in the A7r. But bear in mind, in high setting it uses more power. The advantage of IBIS is also shown when focusing under high magnification. With the A7r, any slight camera movement will result in the corresponding magnification of image movement in the evf . This is worse with telephoto lenses. The M ll with IBIS, stabilizes the image and makes it easier to focus with mf lenses. Remember to set the correct focal length in the menu when using mf lenses with the IBIS function.
For such a detailed test and comparison, I think it's best that you wait for "professional" reviews from reliable sites bro. Hope you are not offended by my reply. But from some playing last night, I find that the dynamic range is slightly much better than my previous 1DX. But don't take my word for it. This is from my unreliable comparison. Hope others may help you with your queries as well. Those who have gotten your new toy, congrats!!! Can i check with you if it's worth the value to upgrade from A7 judging from the cost of upgrade. After a while of contemplating whether to bite the bullet or not.. i am not quite convinced esp thinking about $4k+ for a body only. it is pretty sum of money and am not sure if the new features are worthy of upgrade looking at the end result of the photo in particular for day to day use. moreover i feel sony camera life cycle quite short as in within 1-2 years always come out new camera body and the price of the previous version drop quite drastically so not really worth of investment. *sorry, i am not complaining about this.. this just 1 of the reason if i should not rush into GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) for new product launch of sony* Things that make me not sure are: 1. file size and processing/loading time if you're not going to upgrade your PC in near future (currently using i7 16gb ram - iMac mid 2011, graphic card 2gb) 2. how much better the dynamic range compared with A7? 3. how many stop better of high iso performance compared with A7? 4. weight wise coz my initial thought of using A7 is the size and weight (i only use MF M-mount lens to keep it as compact as possible). now it seems much heavier for the body only. I am sorry if my question annoy some of you.. but i just want to know some honest feedback especially from those who just a hobbyist and not make a living out of photography. Much appreciated. Cheers

Hey guseliz, when i first dived into my a7r i've been asked "do you actually need 36 mp for daily use?" When i swapped over to the a7II, it was perfect as a stills camera for me ( the 5 axis and all ), i saw no reason to switch over to the a7rii other than its video features. I bit the bullet and did it anyway. You see its really simple, there's really no need to justify your purchases, just get what u feel is comfortable within your budget, at the end of the day, an Iphone or a samsung phone is awesome enough for day to day use. I'm a hobbyist, i take photos only when i travel.

No other complaint for now, I read that silent shooting and other modes like bracketing reduces the bit depth so guys be aware of that 12bit only.. I'll test that too cause I would like to use the silent shooting
