Yeah i just hope sony can be more confident of their product launches. Pulling stunts like this is a clear indication of how insecure they feel.

I see your posts here complaining and whining.
If u confirm buying then go to your regular shop and place a deposit and asked them to call u once the next shipment arrived. This is very common for new product launches not only Sony. What has it got to do with feeling insecure? the Latest Nikon 500/600 also running on low stocks or no stock now.

Just to share a tip, the area behind the hot shoe can scratch quite easily if not careful (esp if you use hot shoe accessory often). I carbon-fiber-ed the area just in case

haha no problem mine is all native sony lenses so i cant comment on adaptors haha.. ps... im still trying to get used to the controls and all hahha

ah i thought i saw you selling a 70-200 f2.8 canon hehe... so must have been sold alrdy. i am contemplating buying that lens to use with the a7r2 on EF adaptor. need to see it's AF performance first

I see. Yup I sold it already haha. I was actually thinking of also keeping the canon lens and using metabones. But after futher thinking and trying the sony f4 version during the exclusive event, i decided to go for the sony. The main reason was size haha. IQ wise was quite comparable

will test with my existing set of EF lenses tonight.

however i am using a 3rd Party Deotech Techart adaptor. so many not be as good as the latest metabones.

Just got mine Cathay had the last one! .. I just tested at the shop and yes what they say about the viewfinder is true :-( basically the zoom is useless and you can't mf anymore.. Everything is smeared and blurry... I hope they fix that somehow

I was able to focus easily with my 21mm Elmarit-Asph lens. Adjust the dioptre first. There isn't a great deal of difference between standard and high setting, with the latter having slightly more details. It is clearer than the evf in the A7r. But bear in mind, in high setting it uses more power. The advantage of IBIS is also shown when focusing under high magnification. With the A7r, any slight camera movement will result in the corresponding magnification of image movement in the evf . This is worse with telephoto lenses. The M ll with IBIS, stabilizes the image and makes it easier to focus with mf lenses. Remember to set the correct focal length in the menu when using mf lenses with the IBIS function.

tested with tamrom 2470 f2.8 also no problem

using the deotech also

someone posted that the 24-70 VC and 70-200 VC doesnt AF with the a7R2 using a commlite adaptor. not sure if metabones adaptor will make a difference.

I tested my wide angle M lenses with the A7R ll. Unfortunately, there are still corner and edge smearing, but it appears there is no colour cast. But the results are better than what I have seen with the A7r.

21 Elmarit-Asph. There is edge and corner smearing, but less than what I have seen in the A7r. At f4.0, sharpness improves, but not to the extent I feel I could use this aperture, if I want edge to edge sharpness. At f5.6, it appears, smearing is almost gone.

28 Summicron -Asph. At f2.0, there is edge and corner smearing. It is only at f4.0 and beyond, I feel comfortable in using this lens.

35 Summicron (pre-Asph, bokeh king). Again at f2.0, edge and corner smearing exits. At f4.0 it looks good and sharpness improves further at f5.6.

35 Summilux-Asph. At f1.4 there is edge and corner smearing. I could still see a small amount of smearing at f2.8, but at f4.0 it looks good.


I was informed the next shipment will only arrive at the end-August.
