Thanks but I wasn't a Sony user before so no A mount lenses and am not prepared to spend that kind of money to make it work. Adaptors are totally out of the question for me. They are just unreliable (to me).

If you have M lenses, why settle for a China one? Go with Novoflex or Voigtlander.

I agree. If you have just 1 or 2 m lenses, why pay so much for a lens extension . It depends on how often you change lenses as well.

Same here. I am not a Sony user before. I am not prepared to spend such money buying LA-EA4 + Alpha lenses.

The LA-EA4 isn't your metabones adapter. It's made by Sony, so it's perfect and has a mirror inside the adapter, which turns the A7r into a Sony DSLR.

The la-ea4 adapter has inbuilt motor to drive alpha lenses . The translucent mirror in the adapter serves to direct light to the pdaf sensors in the adapter . Overall the adapter transform the a7 into a full frame dslt camera with full pdaf capabilities , at the expensive of a small light loss Due to the translucent mirror

Today tried the la-ea4 with sigma 35mm.... okie lar.... initially pair it with ea3.... cannot lock focus.... bur still prefer sony fe lens.....

Erm,I know what the LA-EA4 is. For a non Sony user with no A mount lenses, it defeats the purpose of getting the compact A7R. Why would I want to turn my A7R into a DSLR? Could have stick to my D800E if that's what I wanted.
