Just collected from Harbourfront. Brand new set.... :thumbsup:

Dunno whether want to jump ship to sony leh.... :think:

hmm... as i was contemplating the purchase of Fz4 / fz5, i decided to find if simliar users have the same problem, and hence chanced upon this thread.

To all, i'm a A40 user, EXACTLY the same problem. Change battery pack problem, and fuzzy LCD (especially in low light condition), lines in pictures.

wad should i do? since i'm a A40 and not a70 user? my camera has served me well, but i guess, this problem u're experiencing has been there even before teh days of a70!!

to think i've always been advocating the goods of a powershot and canon.

advise advisE please!
 

just make a trip down to harbour front and ask..no harm
anyway i will be collecting my a95 in an hr time
now that u mentioned it..wonder if a95 will have the same problem 1-2 yrs later? :dunno:

Called the service centre today. It's been 1 week and I've not heard of them. Will call them every single day to bug them if they dont calll me soon.

Update.

They called me within a week to confirm with me whether I wanted to upgrade to A95. Then a few days later, I got a SMS informing me that the camers is ready for collection.

i collectin my new a95 this wed! :D
 

friend's A70 got the same problem 1 day b4 she went overseas
had to borrow a cam frm her friend instead for her trip
will be back on the 26th June
will call Canon up then to demand the upgrade to A95 :D for all the hassle that she went through

btw, A70 bought mid 2003 also IIRC
 

Brought my A70 to the Canon ICU at Keppel Bay Towers on Tues 21st June. Recieved a call from them on Fri 24th June. As expected, my A70 with the battery pack problem and CCD problem qualified for the A95 upgrade. But was quoted $152 before gst. With gst will be $159.60. Wonder why the amount is increasing.
 

Had a few instanaces of blackout LCD screen...looks like mine has to send to ICU soon. This is purchases in 2003, still has extended warranty coverage til 1st Aug 2006. I wonder if there should be any claims, do i go Harvey Norman or straight to Canon ?

Think you bring it to Canon straight ask them for the exchange program.

Just Collected my A95 from canon. $138.60. Wonder why the customer service called and mentioned $152 before GST. Before my turn ,there was another guy collecting the A95 too. Humm.. wonder exactly how many A70 upgraded to A95...
 

just called to enquiry cos i encounter the same problem, they told me that unfortunately today is the last day which they can do the exhange program :(
have to bring down the A70 for them to access then quote the repair cost....

any advise on what i should do now?

Maybe those exchange stock from svc center A95-grade A type are going to finished soon... I think can ask them for A510
 

I have a A60 with the battery pack and black screen errors. Has anyone exchanged a A60 before? Seems that my camera faults match those of the A70 you all talking about here.

Really disappointed with Canon for producing such low-quality camera. Spoilt after 2 years. I will probably never buy a Canon camera in the future.
