A6000

I am using my A6000 with 16-70mm F4 Zeiss zoom. Planning to add a 30 to 35mm fast prime and had been shopping around. Any comments and preferences on the following;

1) 35mm F1.8 OSS
2) 35mm F2.8 FE (I hope to switch to FF A7 in time to come)
3) Sigma 30mm F2.8 (cheap and good but I wonder is Sony's 35mm F1.8 would be worth the ~$300 more)
4) Adapted Nikon/Minolta/Pentax lens - problem is I don't have the lens or adapters, so cost will be high just to have fun with them.

2nd hand 35mm 1.8 my choice OSS

if u intending to switch, then get the FE one lor. the more u buy crop lens, the deeper u sink. for my case I have too many crop lenses, making it very difficult to switch to A7

Yes, exactly, I am facing the dilemma too. I am resisting the urge to invest in crop lens...but A6000 is really quite a camera.

Sell me.

Went to 313 to rent a 35mm F1.8 OSS to try out during leave and Saturday. Initial thoughts are all positive and sharp lens. Will try and post some pictures in the picture sharing thread.

Hi you can rent lenses to try from Sony itself or from any of the lens rntal shops that are listed here in clubsnap

Anyone compared the continuous AF shooting with LX100? Which is better? I mainly wanna take running kids and animals indoor.

Official discount of 10% off the RRP. Unofficial free battery as well.

Worth buying? Or go for touch screen with the A5100? Or wait for a possible A6100?

any user of 18105 G lens here? Hows the lens? Is it huge? or it compensates with the sharpness?

lens definitely is heavy, but that's the price u pay for versatility. sharpness wise, from my untrained eye, I'll say it is sharp enough for my use.

u can go to the Sony Gallery and test it out

My fav travel lens. Stays on my A6k 90% of the time. With that kind of reach, the weight and size are acceptable to me. In fact I love to hold the lens barrel and walk around (even though there's a neckstrap).
Bokeh is pretty decent and sharpness is there too. Just have some distortion problems which could probably be fixed thru LR. Doesn't bother me most of the time. Can check out the A6k image thread where I have some samples to view.

Like what hawthorne mentioned, can always drop by 313 Sony to have a feel and play with it.

Cheers.

Sony is having Christmas rebate for A6000, quotes from MS Color $960 for A6000 kit and $740 for body. Good for Christmas gift ;)

Even before the rebates, the A6000 was cheap! A mirrorless, APS-C sensor with C-AF tracking that actually works...all for under SGD$1000 with kit lens...I really don't know why everybody doesn't have one of these!

This is one of the reasons it was voted best camera for 2014 by TCSTV - high end specs, low end pricing...that's where mirrorless should be!
