A6000

Recently I was on trip and I found out the gray spot on most of the photos. I only have one lens and never detached the lens from body though. I have no idea how the dust came in. Because of the zoom lens?
Everything is possible but I don't think so.

Anyone know A6000 body is available for purchase at Changi Airport Duty Free?
I wonder what will be the price if available?

I saw it being sold at terminal 2 and 3...didn't really see the price

Was experimenting the set yesterday at 313 in AF C mode. How do you move the selected green bars to another location? It keeps on focusing on the monkey's feet instead of the eyes.

Of course it is. Just give them a call and reserve.

Hi CS Seniors, need some advice please...
Thinking of replacing my Nikon D90 with A6000, but I currently also have a RX100M2 for my P&S cam.
Should I still keep the RX100M2?
Thanks in advance ....

How accurate are website comparisons like this? http://snapsort.com/compare/Sony-A7-vs-Sony-Alpha-A6000

It's a simplistic way to compare but quite a good summary.

To be honest...don't look at such numbers...look at what you shoot and what you use the camera for and daily experiences with the camera.
I personally do not own the A7, i only own the a7r and A6000.
I cannot say which is better as i use them for different purposes. Which do i like more? Well, i like the a6000 more.
Why? I go to my A7r when i really want the best IQ and sharpest image especially for portrait shoots where the RAW files make photoshopping a breeze.
On a daily usage, for random shooting, general shooting, night out with the family and friends...and for portrait shoots that need to "freeze" action, i'll use the a6000 more becuase of it's super fast and accurate AF and 11fps and it's much lighter and smaller.
On proper shoots, i actually bring both cameras out together. The A7r will still be the main camera because i'd want the sharpest image available..but that's about all i use it for...everything else, the a6k takes over..I actually mount the FE55 on the a6k and the FE2470 on the a7r and sometimes vice vesa...again, depends on what i'm shooting, i'll decide which is the better camera to use...

If you don't need FF, you don't need the sharpest image...definitely the a6k over the a7

Although the A6000 is smaller than a DSLR, it is not exactly very small. Hence u still need to bring a bag around. The RX100M2 is small enough to keep in a small pouch or maybe a pants with large pockets.

Hence, it is up to u. if u want to shoot photos without bringing a bag, the RX100M2 will come in handy.

Those comparison sites often get data wrong or interpret it wrongly. If you have no clue better don't look at them at all because you won't even notice their crap data.

Thanks. You've summarized it very well. After a few days at 313, I can safely decide on A6000. I might be saving for Zeiss 55mmf1.8 but not sure whether it's worth the 1k upgrade from my cheapo 50mmf1.8. Will also be getting RX100M3 when it comes out.

No. Keep your 50mm F1.8. Sony will release another prime lens this yr then you decide.

If u are staying with apsc, why waste money on a nominal upgrade and lose OSS? The sel50f18 is a phenomenal lens. It beats every other 50/1.8s just a pity it's an apsc lens.

Yes, please keep the 50f1.8 The FE55 was made for the a7r camera and it performs fantastic on it but on the a6k...i believe the 50f1.8 will be equally as good since you won't need the extra capability of the Fe55 on apsc...you also get OSS on the 50f1.8 that you don't get on the fe55. i only own the fe55 becuase i own the a7r so all the lenses i buy, i buy the FE version so i can use on both.
i have a strong feeling, once you get the rx100M3...you willl end up not using the a6k very much hehe..considering the size of the rx100..it's going to be a fantactic camera! I'm tempted to get it myself for travelling..and keep my a7r at home haha

That was what happened to me. I started to bring my RX100 out more often than my then NEX-C3. RX100 can already perform beyond my expectations. Nowadays I bring both my RX100 and A6000. The A6000 will be armed with a prime lens, while those opportunistic shots will be done on RX100

This is one of my first photo taken with the RX100 during an impromptu trip to Marina Barrage.

The RX100M3 has an even faster lens, hence, I believe its poor light performance will be even better

I think the main issue with the rx100m3...it.cost more or the same same the a6k kit. Its not.cheap for a pns camera.

Wow the color in that shot is impressive! An important thing that RX100 M2 lacks is bokeh even at wide open. Not as creamy as my 24mm f1.8. I'll be carrying both for different purposes. Perhaps I might ditch my camcorder if the video quality is good.

Thanks. Point taken. I'll focus on APS-C for now and maybe wait for 2nd or 3rd generation A7 before I decide to upgrade.
