A6000

Hi Im new here and would like to know for the PO, do we have to pay in full? Also can preorder first & decide on the PWP during collection?

some shop wld ask for $200 deposit. PWP can decide during collection

You plug in sd card into laptop card reader or through usb card reader? If through usb card reader, better buy the usb 3.0. Usb 2.0 is the bottleneck, even you use 95MB/s UHS-1 card.

I have been using the 16gb MS HG-Pro HX on my USB 3.0 Kingston card reader.... damn, is it slow or what... maxed out at 15mb/s (theoretical should be 35mb/s) read if I am lucky...

If you intend to bargain for lower price than PWP...do it during PO deposit, or else you will lose your bargaining power.

mb/s and MB/s, a lot of different. ..
your laptop has usb 3.0 ports? Those with blue color plastic inside the port.

What i am trying to say is that my USB 3.0 card reader is not the limiting factor to the speed when my 2 yr old MS HG-HX is agonizingly slow. That's why I bought the 95MB/S UHS-1 SD card.

My 2014 mac lappy and DIY PC all comes with USB 3.0 ports.

I thought you connect usb 3.0 card reader to usb 2.0 port. Haha.
15MB/s is quite normal since your ms rated at 20 or 30MB/s...

Sandisk USB 3.0 card reader with USB 3.0 ports.

:D :D

And using onboard USB 3.0 ports and not casing USB 3.0 ports cos they are slower.

Guys i can't get lower street price than pwp price for the 10-18.
Able to get in the 9xx range locally?

Anyone here got extra SONY hotshoe to spare or sell me???? :embrass:

Every single sseemingly innocuous item that Sony can cheap out on, they will remove or provide a lousier version so the price tag will be attractive :) I think the a58 was one such camera, and the a3000 too.

Minor sacrifices for high IQ in a low priced package!

This does not exactly cover the pins at the front, does it?

Firstly, i'm surprised the a6k doesn't come with a cheap cover..even the nex6 does..so expensive for Sony to include that meh?
Secondly, i don't think those you buy on ebay will cover the multiInterface pins on the camera. But they should cover the hotshoe anyways and those pins are kinda deeper inside so it should not matter.
Honestly, i don't think you even need a cover..i don't cover my hotshoes...becuase when i want to mount a flash, i need to remove..very troublesome..

better to have proper and adequate protection, especially shooting under drizzling condition... but yes agree with u... it's a piece of cheap plastic yet not included in package... LOL... it's a Sony...

Hmmm? Tk posted on its fb page that it has stopped taking a6k pre orders..

Any idea why? Just curious.
