Interest to know the performance of A6000+FE70-200G combo
the camera isn't even in the market and you expect us to already know how it will perform?
why don't you give a call to Sony to inquire about this?
This was a question for the informed. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. :thumbsd:
according to Sony site, as of now FE lenses will not hybrid AF on cropped bodies

What a let down. I was hoping to get a6000 as a backup to a7 & use FE lens.
Hope they can do firmware upgrade to solve this.
well wait for the a6000 to be officially released in production form. hopefully this FAQ gets updated then, note that a6000 doesnt appear in the list above too that states compatibility with the other e mount lenses.
somehow i think Sony is doing it on purpose..
You want PDAF with FE, buy the A7.
Just like what they did with OSS with the 1650 and 55210 kit lenses on the A7..All other E mount has OSS enabled on the A7/R EXCEPT these 2 lenses because they are kit lenses...
You want OSS on A7/r? Buy FE.
So i believe Sony will do exactly the same with the a6k..no PDAF with FE lenss...only E mount.
hehe let's wait and see. the new A6k and A7 are all alpha branded. doesn't make sense to have lenses for the same mount not working for each other. the old bodies, well they are NEX branded not Alpha branded kekeke.
do note that the FAQ was Last Updated: 12/19/2013. before the launch or announcement of A6k
Yes. They should do something about it. There'll be people like me who want to pair the FE 70-200mm f4 with a6000.
My current a7 & minolta 80-200mm f2.8 is slow in AF plus the low fps in a7 just sucks when taking sports like soccer etc.
So a6000 & fe 70-200 will be a perfect combo.

Actually, i take back my words..i do recall seeing videos on youtube showing off the AF capabilities of the A6k...and they were all testing using the FE55 lens and it clearly showed PDAF working for that lens!
I guess you are right..the newer cameras will have PDAF with the FE lenses but the NEX is history..Sony is no longer going to update anything for them...pity really..all other companies still support their older models until certain time but NEX6/5R isn't that old..and until today, only 1 firmware!
So tell me who here do you think would have the camera to test with Touits and FE lenses?
You're posing a question that would be best to search for answers on the Internet, looking for reviewers who have the lens and camera together. Are you sure you're asking in the right place?
Anyone going to pre-order from amazon?
Was informed that this item will arrives in Singapore end Mar - Apr ....
Btw, anyone have experience on IQ of Nex-6 to share? I suppose there are differences as this A6k is using new sensor of 24mp on APSC.. The current setup seems almost "perferct" except I am not quite sure of the IQ. Used to own a A57 before but never a Nex.
So anyone with a Nex-6 or perhaps Nex-7 can advise the IQ and possibly share some pics? especially low light
I don't think you can use the NEX6 low light as an example. High ISO performance is not only related to the sensor, it's more to do with the processor as well.
the nex6 is and older sensor/processor.
IQ wise in good light, it's as good as any top APSC camera.
In low light..i would use my NEX6 no more than ISo1600..but then again..i also won't go above 1600 on my A7r...
I wouldn't be too worried about low light...AF is more important in low light and this is where i think the a6k will shine above the nex or even the A7...since the a7r is almost useless in low light...
This is after all a USD650 camera we're talking about..from what i'm seeing..the performance is on par with a $2k DSLR
