Btw back to the topic about A500, I've tried out the A500, it's a very responsive camera - it feels like an a700 in the way that it switches on, acquires and shoots very quickly, even in live view... the MF check LV is something to like about in macro work, and the smile shutter actually works... The missing rear dial is a something of a pet peeve for me - because I'm too used to it on my A700.
AF short comings would only be apparent, I reckon, in places with difficult lighting situation - that's where the AF would not work as well as the A700/850/900 bodies.
Nevertheless, the noise performance is really good, grain's very fine - it looks better than my a700 v4, and on that level - might be on par or better than the offerings from other brands too.
