Hi, like to verify with you guys, I have a A550, if I use the 50mm F1.8 Lens, all scene mode and P mode will stay fixed at F2, and if I use the 17-50mm lens, all scene mode and P mode stay fixed at F2.8, is this normal?

where is the place you find anomaly? that it doesnt go to 1.8? if you use 50 1.8 it should go to 1.8 lowest.

If you are willing to pay close to RRP, there are still some shops selling it. Last I heard is that it's out of stock almost everywhere, so in the end I settled for the A500 instead for a very, very good price.

Is ur 17-50mm lens a tamron f2.8 ? If yes it can't go to f2 ma

Newbie also can organize outing mah.
Places to shoot? A lot leh, where ever you go you can see a lot of photographers also. Some popular places are Esplanade Park, Merlion Park, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, Bird Park, etc.

Yes, the camera will try to use the biggest possible aperture to ensure sufficient shutter speed.

But then it's a bit wierd why it doesn't go to F1.8 for your 50mm. Maybe you manually select a ISO that is high enough?
