is this an 18-55mm lens? Or 55-200mm? Btw, remember to get an LCD protector haha.

I just got my a330 last month and have been experimenting with it! ;p

Btw, during manual mode i notice that the F number cannot be adjusted?

yo..that a kit lens. 18-55mm de.

as for manual F. i also thought cannot . after reading the stupid instruction, u need to hold on the exposure button when adjusting aperture.

important to read the manual, especially if you a starter.
Me? I threw out my box and all the manuals since thought they are too heavy, and my friend said I'm stupid.

oh.. I was wondering why my 18-55mm did not come with the black cap... it came with this soft plastic transparent cap... the black cap only came with my 55-200mm..

Should I get a Sigma 28-105 F2.8 - 4 as a walk about lens for my a330? ;p

I would get something like a 11-18mm or a 18-250mm or a 16-105mm lens for my walkabout.. but that's just me.

haha. i now using the sony 50f18 prime. quite good for its price leh. trying out tml as walkaround lens.
btw..what i wonder what software u all use to edit either then photoshop.( no money buy). :sweatsm:

There's always GIMP. You'll find plenty of tutorials online.

Photography is an expensive hobby, a good PP software is also quite important imho. So if you don't like GIMP, you'll have to spend some money on PS. If you got the cash, try out Lightroom 2. Oh Lightroom 3 Beta is free for now.

Alternatively, you can use the bundled software on the disc, but its pretty basic.

What kind of lens would be a good landscape lens? will the sigma lens i mentioned be good enough? lol..

Haha. I don't think 28mm is wide enough for landscape. Even at 18mm, I find that it is not wide enough. Take a look at tamron's 10-24mm lens. Don't know about the quality of the lens though. but the 11-18mm sony lens is quite a good landscape lens. IMO.

if you are using mac, you can use iPhoto which I am using. It's good enough for me to adjust the colour, sharpness, exposure of the photo. ;) (Benefits of a Mac. xD)

haha...guess i have to stuck with gimp ba....

Anyone knows the shutter life span for the A330? 100k shots? ;p

I juz took my a330 to vietnam and come back recently...overall quite satisfy with my experience but still lots of thing to learn. got time will post some pictures up.
For landscaping...i must agreed that 18mm is not wide enough...the DSLR poison really damn gao gao...i suddenly realise the kit lens 1855 quite limited when u wan to take shoots like u are on the sea/water cuz u cant move around. i spend quite a while in 50mm prime.

the Alpha is very good for travalling cuz its quite compact compare to other DSLR. i still have my other things to take care of other than my camera and the small size does not really hinder my travel.:thumbsup:

if its 100k shoots...i will prob used it up in like 1yr...my Viet trip.i took like 1000 plus photos..i juz spam
