Hi,

I'm not sure if my A2 is a lemon but ever since I had it, it often seems to have problem focusing properly. The viewfinder looks out of focus even when the focus indicator shows OK. It has the latest 1.1.4 firmware update.

I have a Canon G3 which has the same problem but my success rate is much higher than the A2.

Should I get this fixed at Minolta ?

what sort of focussng are you using? wide area?

If you suspect it is a problem, may be the time to go down to service center.

try changing the focusing mode to center spot mode and try again.

to me, the fancy 9 point focusing is almost useless unless if you are shotting in good light, it hunts a lot.

btw, I am using the A200.

Have you checked if your viewfinder diopter has been set to match your eyesight?

I am using the LCD to focus, not the viewfinder.

Okay but I thought you did specifically referred to the viewfinder.
If it's the LCD that appears out of focus, I wouldn't be able to offer any advice since I have never tried using the LCD to focus even when using my FZ10 or FX7.
Have you tried using the viewfinder and then comparing what you see with that on the LCD image?
