and oh. vote with your wallet.
dont pay and still be abused.
that is really foolish. :bsmilie:

I went there a few ago to ask whether do they sell film SLR cam because I need it for school assignments. They gave me the look that I was still living in the film ages... They told me that "THEIR" shop, dont sell film anymore because film is not popular anymore, in a sacrastic way...

I think it was that ah lian you mentioned that told be that...

Film not popular anymore? Call them to fly kite! Film photography got its own beauty too!

Anyway from what I seen in CS, it seem tat quite a few shops in SLS, funan and peninsula dun reali like selling to locals? They like to quote a high price, den when u tell them u dun wan, they start scolding ppl liao....dunoe hw they can survive leh.... :dunno: .... I experienced this when I go to this shop opp CP last yr to buy slica gel.....but the shop no longer there liao... :bsmilie:

maybe to save the trouble of getting scolded, try go those recommended shops ba....

This reminds me of my experience at City Square, JB. I was at one of the camera shop to buy 3 filters only! And i paid using my debit card. The manager gave me a good service and asked me to visit him again! 1 yr later, i went back to the shop again! And this time, i only bought a camera cleaning kit. And he smile and me. I asked if he still remembers me, he said yes! He remembers me as the person who paid using a unique kind of debit card! For my 2 times there, he never fails to reduce the price!

Vast difference between SG and MY. Sigh...

Anyone can recommend me where to shop for a dry cabinet? In terms of price, dun really need service for this type of purchase. Thanks.

Suntec Carrefour also got! =)

Just want to share my experience of this particular shop at Funan Centre. Its called BestCam located #05-19 located just beside AP. I went to Funan earlier in the afternoon to accompany my friend source for Canon BG-E3. We asked around several shops, Song Brothers, AP and one other shop. The price they quoted range from $180-$190. We then went into BestCam, and take a look. This shop is runned by an ah beng, an ah lian and an uncle. The uncle seems to be quite blur and dunno anything, he thought BG-E3 is just a batt. Anyway we asked the ah beng how much they are selling the grip and he bo chap us, jus ask the ah lian to tell us the price. The ah lian told us its $289 for the grip which shocked me as I know what is the market price for the grip. I just said thanks and wanted to leave the shop liao. The girl, maybe knowing that we know the real price, even dare to say in a rude tone that sometimes ago the BG-E3 is selling for $180 to $200 coz got promotion nw its impossible to find at that price liao. My frenz who cannot tahan liao, told her a few shops downstairs is selling for around $180-$200 only. She then retorted in a very rude manner, "If downstairs sell that price, then u go buy from them lah!" Damn f**king rude!;( I dunno whether anyone here has similar experience at this shop before. But its the last time me and my friend will be there..

Don't be angry.
I'd prefer that they told you what they told you, to go buy from them rather than one shop that told me "When you find a better price call me and I'll match it" he told me that after he asked me "Are you serious about buying this lens?", he thinks I'm a joker. The shop is Camera Solutions in Perth.

At the end of the day, just smile even if the shop staff don't treat you well. And maybe, they'll return the smile too.

Hehe... I like the staff at Song Brothers Sim Lim Square. The girl there accidentally scratched me with her fingernail while unloading my 400D from its box to show me that everything's inside. It wasn't a serious scratch and there wasn't even a mark on my hand but she kept on saying 'sorry' and from the looks of it, she was very sincere about it.

Never failed to keep a smile on for customers and potential ones alike. for this shop :)

And did I ever mention that John 3:16 simply rocks? Leslie rocks la... He let me try a lens on my 400D to get the feel of it. Even though I didn't buy anything, he was still friendly and willing to chat about stuffs too. I bought a BG-E3 from them in my previous visit though and they provided prompt and excellent service.  for John 3:16!

Bestcam? It was incredible that an argument nearly erupted between me and an ah beng shopkeeper when I making a purchase for my Powershot compact. Even insisted on cash and no NETS (to save on not paying NETS commission). Charged me S$355 for my cam. I paid S$360. Checked his cash register and just plainly told me "sorry can't give change". After some serious haggling, I just settled for all the loose change in the cash register and apparently it wasn't as empty as claimed. I ended up paying S$355.40 (extra 40 cents nia WTF) and had to put up with such a character. I'm still wondering if he was trying to rip me off for a few bucks or is just bad at simple arithmetic. :dunno:

Take back the S$360 and dont buy lor, then he lose out more in the end. If he refuse to return you the $$, inform him that you will be calling the police.

Buyer Beware

So what if they over charge and the service is crap, just dont go there. If anyone pays a ridiculous amount for some piece of equipment it serves them right. How hard is it, especially in the modern world of today, to check prices. Its not.

Buyer Beware

Nah. I didn't want the additional hassle. Besides, I was really anxious to bring home my new digicam and start playing with it. If I couldn't get back most of the change, I could just go to AP next door, which offered me the model at S$359.
