For the 'vintage' look, I applied split-toning in Lightroom 2, with light yellow tone to the highlight and purplish-blue tone to the shadow. I also reduce the saturation of the image. I'm basically doing trial-and-error to find the best toning for the mood I want

thought that this was nicely composed, i like this not many people would have walked past this canal thinking that they could take a nice picture of that band of buildings and HDBs, but u made it work.
