First try : no too much sky above the bridge and adding a touch of red colour to balance the existing colours...

Let's put an end to the bridge's pictures with a panoramic view (composed by 4 horizontal pictures stitched together) : i recommand the Triana Riverside if you pass by, really.

The S100FS has RAW mode. As "Finepix Studio" sofware provided in bundle with this bridge is very very very (really) slow to process Fujifilm's RAW, i generally shoot in jpeg-fine mode when there is no problem with light.

Sometime, in front of difficult lights, when dynamic range is needed, i must admit it's interesting to apply to RAW mode. Here is an example of the plus you may get from the super CCD HR technology :

RAW picture processed by default = almost like jpeg-fine picture directly from camera.

same RAW picture processed with minimal care.

The Finepix bridge has a hotshoe for external flash. This function is essential to me.

Here are the essais i made with external flash when visiting Triana indoor food market. First of all, as usual, i shot the scene without flash for further comparision :

(if you take a look at the exifs, note there is a bug with the S100FS 's exifs recorder which always reported that flash fired once "external flash" is set in the menu although flash has not fired.)

Then, i made a fill-in with flash to capture more details in the shadowed areas. (As a lady came in the field and positionned at the left of my picture, i used a synchro cord to move my off-shoe 550EX far from her so anybody can notice flash light in her back when looking at my picture and seeking for flash effect)

There is no TTL flash with external flash which must be set in Manual mode but i appreciate the S100FS 's hotshoe for i do not depend of the (small) built-in flash and can benefit of better flash light.

Hello there,

You have quite good pics for the s100fs. I am also using the same fuji model but I am having a hard time to have the same beautiful result as what you have posted. Can you help me by providing the camera set up you used for the pictures. Most specially the one you used for the macro.

Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,
Asininex:)

Thank you very much for your kind comment, dear Asininex. I'll be my pleisure to share anything may be useful to you.

Difficulties you encountered and hard time you have had are probably due to your working mode. Manufacturers designed elaborated prosumers but they programmed them as if everybody is newbie and no one is expert : in doing so, they introduced surprising hidden limitations that often prevent you from achieving good expected photos. I can show and point out for you these particular limitations but i need you shoot some pictures for me as follow :

pictures-to-shoot...h-s100fs-10ae650.jpg

First of all, please set your bridge to 200 ISO and take a portrait of someone by a bright sunny day, with a building (or a tree) and a nice blue sky behind him or her.

Secondly, put two chairs near a window : one chair right in front of the window and the other chair beside the window. Then set your bridge to 100 ISO and take me two pictures in the morning or in the end of the afternoon : one picture of the chair in front of the window, and one picture of the chair beside the window without the window in the frame.

Afterwards, please, feel free to post your 3 photos on this thread.

Waiting for your results soon,
Best regards,
YP.

As i am telling about the S100FS's flash ability, i discovered its built-in-flash can trigger slave flash(s) wirelessly via an auto-triggering cell : there is noTTL, distant flash(es) must be set manually but they enable some nice shots as well.

For example, i used a 550EX as slave flash to picture a flower grown by my mom at her balcony :

The master built-in flash and the slave distant 550EX enabled me to get the following pictures :

Just note you can trigger distant flash wirelessly too.:lovegrin:

Let me bring you back to Sevilla with some pictures shoot in the end of the afternoon :
