A Good Canon Travel Lens

16-35mm, 28-105mm and 50mm f1.8 my usual gear. Usually I would just use the 16-35 for most shots.

hi, anyone tried the Sigma 24-135mm F2.8-4.5, how is it in terms of image quality?

I was looking for Canon 28-105 MKII and came across this model.

Price for Sigma 24-135 is arund sg$440 which looks like a good price.

For non-serious travel photo work, the 28-135 IS USM should be sufficient. It's light as a travel lens and its range cover almost perfectly (except for wide angle landscape shots). The IS is good for low-light work although you may need to push up your ISO to get a reasonable stable shoot.

Hi,

Have been reading up quite a bit about Canon 28-135 IS USM lens for a good all-round lens. Any idea about how this lens performs in low-light conditions?

I'm contemplating between a 50mm 1.4 (or 1.8) vs 28-135 IS for event shots (wonder if the IS on 28-135 will help for the smaller aperture size at 3.5?) would prefer the 28-135 due to the larger range of focal lengths.

your comments please? :)

Sigma AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4.0 EX ASPH /sigma AF 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC /Tamron AF 17-35mm f/2.8-4.0 SP Di LD ASL IF ??

Have been using the 28-135 for quite a while before I sold it off when I switched to the 28-70 f/2.8. As for low light, i would say that the preference is to switch to manual focus. But compared that to the 50mm f/1.8, then of course the 1.8 is a sure winner. Nevertheless, it still depends on what u want to do with the lens, not what the lens can do.

Like in the previous post, 28-135 is a walk-around lens and is good for travel. The 50mm is good for portraiture for most of my work and I hardly use it for other purpose.

So if u covers events, travel or where zoom range is needed then the 28-135 is definitely better despite the f/stop differences.
