i think less colours, also less "imperfect"

when too perfect it starts to look suspiciously disconnected from reality, that's my view :)

A temple worker clearing the massive amount of joss sticks that stack up quickly at the Wong Tai Sin temple, especially since it is the weekend. With the amount of smoke floating around, it is no wonder he wears his mask. :bsmilie:

Almost look like they were praying to him :bsmilie:

ha, no la, the deity is inside the temple

cannot anyhow say! :sticktong

Of course I know.
But that's the interesting part about photography, it is up to the viewer to interpret. ;p
The way he is covered up and the way he is holding the urn, looks like he is a statue ;)

The happiest building in the world, probably happier than most people here :bsmilie:
(If you don't get it, the signage says "Everybody Happy" (loosely translated) in Mandarin)

Two men plant down their joss sticks in unison.

Fortunes are told in a small building full of fortune tellers right next to the Wong Tai Sin Temple, apparently in every language you want. :)

Very nice set. I want to fly to HK now.

You have a very nice mix of photos ...

自扫门前雪,不管他人瓦上霜

- literally translated, sweeping the snow away from your doorstep, and ignoring those on the roof of your neighbour's. A Chinese idiom which could be taken to express a silent exasperation with the changing attitudes of today, a far cry from the past when communities were a lot more closely knit - today every man fights for himself.

Probably a long leap from what is presented here in this photograph, but the nonchalence presented here, the lack of caring, the lack of connection, despite two human beings in such close proximity - that's what I thought when I took the shot. And of course, the presence of the broom. :bsmilie:

Hong Kong, like Singapore, has never ending clearance sales.
