might D300+grip+14-24 instead. about same price as a 1dm3 (or could be cheaper considering those inflated pricing due to limited stocks.

Wahhh  so you really switching sides eh ...

Yea this weekend ... Not sure of the venue ... but giving it a pass...

Who say anything about switching, 10D is still my backup body mah... but really depends, say before liao I hated my 30D shutter sound. And Canon 1D3 has just depreciated beyond what I'm willing to pay for.

This kind of thing depreciate very fast mah.... till now still no stock and price from 6.4K now up to 6.9K in an artificially inflated price due to lack of supply... too bad loh, D3 announcement only "depreciate" it even further. Don't say that Canon Sg have always been charging about 20% more for cam and lenses.

I agree.. sony is already hinting something big with the sensor launch.

But not everyone can afford to have 2 lines of DSLRs

.. Oh ... still no stocks eh? Gotta pay premium to get it ... ... haven't been checking much. Seriously its time they start to revise their pricing and stop milking the cash cow. If canon is smart, they lower the prices before the actual sales of the D3 / D300 hits the shelves in Nov/Dec/Christmas period...

Most photographer would, if they start proper charging of their works instead of giving free shoots. :(

Firstly, I believe in the US$3999 price stated in their whitepaper initially. I would think they they should lower that price in light of the D3 introduction.

However, following Nikon past records their cam availability also limited for the first 6 months.
