7D6N Myanmar Discovery Photography Tour (Part 3)

ok, the surface area of the oar may have 0.1m2 but the speed definitely fell short of 35m/s. btw, u bs right ? :bsmilie::bsmilie: how would a shock wave frequency of 1,500 hz kill the fish ? something in excess of 20G may, i suppose :dunno:

found something on the web on dynamite fishing...."Underwater shock waves produced by the explosion stun the fish and cause their swim bladders to rupture. This rupturing causes an abrupt loss of buoyancy; a small number of fish float to the surface, but most sink to the sea floor. " so if hitting the water hard is another form of poor-man's dynamite fishing, they really got to try very hard...haha
very scientific. perharps i should redeem myself alittle bit for explaining the bubbles theory. ;)

First of all, lets look at this video on how the intha fishermen does his fishing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul08GUGuLTc
1. You will noticed that at 2:56 segment of the video, the conical shaped basket is fully submerged in the water and this gives a tell tale sign of the depth of the lake itself.
2. The temperature of the water is low and the fishes might be low in activity.
3. The beating of water by the intha fisherman supposed to create disturbance to the "lethargic" fishes which might be hiding underneath.
4. with the disturbance, the fishes react and comes out from the hiding place
5. the fisherman will in turn deploy his basket to capture all the fleeing fishes.

:D

Ah...now that explain the beating. Thank you Melvin for the effort to find the answer.

Very beautiful night shot of Inle Resort.
You were the one who was KB KB-ing right upon landing on the resort that:
"I will come back here again. I will come back here again!"
Yupe. You are in love with this resort liao.

Very nice shoot of the night view!

Did you guys notice that the wall socket covers are actually different? Small piece of arts.

ah, i see...i will suggest to them a less labour intensive method. they can place an underwater speaker under their boat hull. then with a press of a button, a loud 'HAHA' will be sent through the water...and the fish will be startled and swim into the nets :)

Very nice shoot of the night view!

No wonder, me and my room mate lived in total darkness. We thought its meant to have no lights.

Speaker needs battery. Pse also suggest to them use solar power. Go green also mah.

gee, u are observant. i couldn't even find the switches initially, fumbled for my torch light in the dark and searched high and low for the switches...haha...after i finally found them, didn't care to take a second look at the intricate design .... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

wah, getting complicated..cloudy day how ? ..just use a small hand-cranked dynamo setup, store the energy in a capacitor and that shall work :) better still, store the energy generated by the wave motion into the capacitor :)
aiya, fundamental purpose is to startle the fish right ? then they just use a cone and shout 'HAHA' at the water lah...practise 哈哈哈哈

I don't have good photo of fishman, or fishing, or the lake, or the lakegull.

But I have this, a couple enjoying the full beauty of the lake, the sunset. Look at the golden light on their faces.

I like the way you see things differently.

One more thing, the bed was protected by nets. So we slept on the floor.

wah u good. luckily u didn't say the toilet bowl was covered so u and your roommate 'watered' the plants outside :)

Anyway, it is not you. Although you may wish.;p

why would i wish ? hmm. i mean the lady doesn't look like mrs reservoir88 lei...always thought she has a sharper chin...perhaps i didn't look from this angle lah...haha...let's let mr reservoir88 confirm...haha

And hugging each other to keep warm?

you are right, they thought that the aircond could only blow cold air :)
but i actually let it blew cold air through out the night, not that i didn't know it could be made to blow warm air....i felt warm ! haha
