A portraiture study of "their studying". The last 2 were taken at the oval shape window temple.

Love the B&W treatment

These children were waiting to queue for food in the monastery. Totally oblivious to the vulgar sign while framing the pic.

Guess this is just the start of the International Sign .. at least one of the kid is having problem show you half a Peace sign :bsmilie:

Again, such a spontaneous catch.
Divinemoment, allow me to say something.
I remember before this Myanmar trip you ever told me something. You said that you are hoping to shoot pictures of people of Myanmar.
And looking at all your photos, I think you have more than achieved that aim you started out with.
I want to say a big Congratulations to you!

This 'sign' that the children are showing.
Perhaps in this part of the world it means a different thing?
Ask SK1968 - he should know - when we were in Bali,m we also had many children showing this sign.
What do you think, Divinemoment, SK1968 or anybody?

I guess I'd blame it on miseducation. I'm pretty sure some (if not all) of those kids have no idea what 'that' gesture mean. It's probably due to the exposure of some pics/video in which these gangstas use 'that' gesture to pose... also, I think it's somewhat becoming a trend among youths to pose like that, sort of portraying "coolness"...

Yup, makes sense and I would certainly want to believe that the kids innocently mean friendly even with that gesture :)

Wah, so many pictures to give :thumbsup: to! I like all of them but my fave will be of the little gal (give me money or I beat you), haha! :) The poor old couple (with almost blind man) looks real to me... while the IR pics still intrigue me

May I know how the IR pics were taken? Is it the mod camera or special camera tricks that I'm unaware of? They look different from handycam's IR looks yet look really awesome!

Let me attempt to answer you about the IR thingy.
All the IR photos you saw on this thread were taken with IR-mod cameras (limwhow, SereneXMM, LowLights and mine). The cameras were actually sent for modification. The IR-cut filters infront of the sensors have been replaced with an IR filter instead. There are several types of IR filters but ours are mainly R72 and ELP Modifying the cameras allows us to take IR photos heldheld and possibility to compose our photos through the viewfinders. As to the photos you see. They can be either really close to that coming out from the cam or PP-ed. The most common PP is often just a Red-Blue channel swap (such as mine) while the more elaborate ones (such as those from limwhow and SereneXMM) can result in very interesting look. Hope my simple explanation helps.

Thank you Sir, you've good memories. As you know, was a last minute decision after I saw SG trekker posted up their recce pic and that tickled me. To be honest, I'm more than happy what I have gotten so far.

And the “Middle Finger Sign.” You could be right and I was just speculating. It could mean a good gesture in certain part of the world.
