7D or 5D mk III

i used to bring my 28mm and 10-20mm on my 500d when i walkabout, it was quite a hassle to change lens.

now with 5d3, i can just pair it with a 17-40, allowing wide angle and the reach of my 28mm on 500d all in one.

the only downside i have is f4. not really a fast lens but with 5d3, no more worries when taking shots in low light.

when i am free, i would like to rent 16-35, see how is it like.

prolly gonna save quite sometime to get it if it suits me >.<

Thanks. Your review is really appreciated as I'm still using the 500d so can relate.

i wan want to try the 16-35 tooo... sadly i got not much budget after 5dm3...

Someone just asked for my 500d. Perhaps I can get my 5d3 soon and join the wonders of it but at the same time be bounded by its budget. Haha.

Anyway, Yah the 1740 going for around there for 2nd hand. Frankly the new ones are about 1k plus alittle so perhaps its better to get a new one.

Just bought the 5d3 today. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. Appreciate them.

Really is a big big jump for me from 500d but am loving it. Struggling on the AF as find it hard to focus on the subject, especially when they move around. Caused me to miss a few key shots but that's because I haven't read any manual or guide yet so will do so in the next few days.
Guys, there's a guide you can purchase online if you want to. Its from Douglas J Klostermann.

Link is here for you to check. Quite good. I bought it already. Not sharing as I'm a strong advocate of protecting copyright. Hehe.

For moving subjects, use AI SERVO. Read up on it and choose the 6 different scenarios available for your use.

Your previous 500D doesn't has AI Servo mode?

Seriously those ppl who buy the canon 5D MIII are plain losers. they just need a good cam to cover their lousy skills and poor photography....If you are good even a pns you can make it. Well its ok because there are losers and winners in this world.

So those pro photographers with multiple winning shots using DSLR are not pro at all.
A pro in your definition can produce sharp images even with PNS or even camera phones.
I know your brain must be still asleep.
Or u don't even know anything about DSLR.

Show me a panning shot of F1 car in action with speed above 150km/hr in sharp details and I treat u to a meal.u name it.
If u can't even do that,then it's best u keep mum.
I only respect people who can do what they said and not just type because it is free.
These are the real loser.

hmmm... do respect the engineer/ designer they spend lots of time integrating all the stuff together. it is really hard work. And we puchase it to enjoy the luxury of such high performance camera. :) every camera will bring great shots... is how you exploit it. 5dm3 is a tool to make things more sweet in photography.

Hi turbonetics.

Just a family man but like to shoot my family, kids, holiday and landscapes.

I do take off ones a while to try out street shots of daily people and surroundings in Singapore to do my own coffee books for fun.

That's why still thinking.

I think of I go ff, body and 16 35 will do for now.

You do coffee books for fun, and JUSt a family man. Wow. You dont need many FPS to shoot landscape. nor will your children give you a need for anything more than 5fps. Sounds like you have a lot of money to burn...

I am not really sure what this thread is all about, but if my gut feeling that you DO have money to burn, then my advice is to buy both and see what you like. Then sell the one that you dont like or keep both. Because then you will then have a feeling of which camera is best cut for your needs. All the best.

OMG... lol that was kinda funny but I kinda get what you mean. though you sound a bit sour....

First of all he didnt say anything about sharp images with PnS. They can be made to 'make it'.
Secondly, a 'pro' in his definition may likely be - someone who makes his bread from the industry which is photography, which is of course my assumption and not necessarily mean you are right.
I show you a panning shot of F1 car copy and paste this... 'http://www.flickr.com/photos/fishpie/4403888786/' Am I entitled to the free meal, or is the offer only for him? though the shot is not my own and belongs to the respective flickr user...

LAst of all, lets not start this pro+lousy cam and noob+pro cam type of discussion again as i feel that this is where we are starting to head to. Its counter-intuitive to Photography.
