7D or 5D mk III

You do coffee books for fun, and JUSt a family man. Wow. You dont need many FPS to shoot landscape. nor will your children give you a need for anything more than 5fps. Sounds like you have a lot of money to burn...

I am not really sure what this thread is all about, but if my gut feeling that you DO have money to burn, then my advice is to buy both and see what you like. Then sell the one that you dont like or keep both. Because then you will then have a feeling of which camera is best cut for your needs. All the best.

Yes, I got the point on 5fps. Afterall, I have already bought the 5DM3 and can see the difference between 3 and 6 and can see why 6 and 8 will not really matter much.

And no, I don't have money to burn, just felt that if I need to upgrade, should I upgrade to a camera that has a better ISO or one that has a better fps. That was the initial reason why I started this thread. I do assume that there are many others too, simple hobbyist that have this question too, a 7D or a 5D3. The question is from a 500D user where do you go next if you want to switch your gear. 600D ? 60D ? 7D ? 5Dm2 ? 5Dm3 ?

Yah. Same. Buying a 2nd hand 1740 tomorrow. The zoom can wait. Not impt yet.

The 16-35mm if you have the cash. The 17-40mm optical flaws are apparent on full frame. Once again, I understand the value it represents, but like I said, go for the 16-35mm if you can afford it.

I never really read through the whole thread. Just saw that you were thinking to purchase the 70-200 F4IS. Just would like to contribute some suggestion to you.

The used price of 70-200 F4 IS is about the same as 70-200 F2.8 (without IS). I think it is better to get the F2.8. why? At 200mm on FF and with your high ISO performance you can use the ISO to compensate for the IS. The DOF of the F2.8 is something that you cannot get from any other compensation on setting.
