60D or 7D

haha guys so what you guys recommend for me?? i seriously am stuck!!!!

seriously, it's your money. we can recommend all we want but ultimately you have to decide for yourself.

what is the significant diff bout 7D and 60D? is 60D weather sealed????
oh and i wanna ask what is the pro and cons of 15-85 and 18-135?? since both their aperture is not constant i guess is just the reach? am i right?

FYI, threads abt 60D vs 7D are all over the net and 60D is NOT weather sealed.

based on my opinions(comparing between the 2 lens):

15-85
pros:
-wider end at 15mm
-very sharp lens
-fast focusing with USM
cons:
-expensive
-not enough reach

18-135
pros:
-longer reach
-relatively cheap
cons:
-image quality is passable
-slow focusing

imo, all lenses have their pros and cons, it's all about working within the limits to bring out the best of your equipments.

think the main differences could be found here...

15-85 is a higher grade lens as compared to the 18-135... so you can be sure the IQ(sharpness, colors, bokeh etc) will be better... it has an extra 3mm on the wide end... and of course has USM.... I believe the IS system is the same: both up to 4 stops (someone correct me if I am wrong)...
yup, both the 15-85 and 18-135 have 4 stops worth of image stabilisation. i tested my 18-135 and it worked as per spec-ed.

and only L lens comes default with hood. even the 17-55 IS USM does not sell with a hood in the box.

I read somewhere the 60D is weather sealed but the sealing is not as good as 7D thats all...

just googled:

thus apparently the 7D's little bro has his own rain coat too... is'nt it great.. heehee

slight drizzle wont kill the camera one la. i used a rebel in snowy condition and it still works just fine. you just need to make sure you clear up the snow as soon as you get back into sheltered area.

7d review got comment about it's sharpness is less sharp than 50D~ 5D...
need to set sharpness +2 to achieve similar sharpness

Yup i recall reading this somewhere too... Any chance u have a link to that page, serverxeon?

60D the material of the body is plastic right?

7D is magnesium?

i prefer go to 7D than 60D if the material of the body still plastic :)

this is ridiculous...

if you choose the magnesium body, will you use it like base ball bat???

have you heard a plastic body that suddenly collapsed or broke down???

Super funny TS!!! Y u wan to change cam suddenly?

N y u nid weather sealed?

Ask yourself this. What is lack of in your current camera.

Hi,
IMHO, do you really need a 7D?? For general purpose shooting, 550D is good enough. If you want a better camera than 550D, 60D is a very good choice. You can use the rest of $$ to get a better lens. For example, at the price of a 7D kit, you should be able to get a 60D body + EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM which, IMHO, is a very good general purpose combination.

Of course, if you got the $$, just get the 7D lor.

Just my $0.02.

Have a nice day.

If budget no issue, confirm choose 7D over the 60D

am i right is saying that 24-105 lens is better than 15-85 or even 17-55 f2.8?? can the 24-105 lens be used for a good walkabout lens?

It will be a good lens as long you know how to use it well...If do not know how to use it, nevermind. The red ring will still be a good fashion statement for your camera.....:bsmilie:

NO... neither is better than the other...

It depends which body u use. FF definitely a 24-104 but for crop 24mm will be like 38 that is nt wide at all. If wide shots does not matter to u then by all means get 24-105 or else think for yourself.

7D is weathersealed and the 60D is only partially weathersealed. but both lenses are not weathersealed..

15-85 is sharper, has faster AF and is built better.
