i seriously doubt you know what you are going to buy.

if you don't know what you want, you probably don't need to spend that money just yet.

 TS, somehow, by the qtns u r asking, u seem to already know what you are intending to purchase....

well if you're lazy (like me), dun wanna bring alot of lenses out or keep changing lenses, 18-200 is the choice ;)

hi guys, i switched camp from sony to canon now..bought a canon 60D kit 3 with 18-200mm..a very happy man now...just need to learn more about my new baby now.:D

i also interested in 7d

but i scared after i buy not long they come out 7d mark ii -_-

den the sharpeness thing resolved only in mark ii. den i suck thumb le

Then just continue waiting and waste the time.....so when 7D MKII is launched, will you be waiting for price drop or the MK III?

Get what you need now, today's technology will turn old the next day. This camera will never be the last camera in your life, so I think you should not think so much and just learn to let go. I had similar thoughts as you before, so I know where you are coming from. By waiting, time is wasted....

Full frame belongs to the pro series and basically the sensor size is equivalent to a 35mm film size. Canon 550D, 60D and 7D are crop sensors which is smaller than the full frame sensor. People believe the full frame capture better images. If you are a DSLR beginner and have never have any experience with a film SLR before, do not bother about the sensor size and just get started with the entry or mid range DSLR. (Someone please advise if I have state anything wrong about FF)

You have a Sony DSLR right? Why you are not using it? What is the problem? You can always get better lenses to shoot with, kit lens quality is always lousy so the images may not turn out good.

Is your intention of buying for needs, skills or desire?

Congrats :bsmilie:

You just thrown away the possibilities of :

Get the sharp images from Sony, that's nice, had to admit Sony produces really sharp images

HDR capabilities on A550, that's unique

Slow AF even with Zeiss or G lenses, which is expensive

Unreliable auto WB, a little bit green

Iso 1600 max on A900

Unreliable flash shot shoe, taken from konica minolta, often flash not firing problems

pixel peeping is killing me...
I just wonder why people like to pixel peeping,
if you are going for large print,
go for medium/large format,
if not, then why shall we pixel peeping?:dunno:

TS, i think if you are beginner then you can try lower model first.
Full-Frame will give you better IQ and less noise but again you need to invest in good lens (for zoom 24-70, 24-105 or prime 24,35,85). Price of 5DII kit will easily hit 4.5-5K.
If you get 60D with 18-200mm lens it will be < 2k (not sure about price).
There are a lot of feature in 5D2 and 7D which you will not be able to understand and end up selling at lower price in B&S, so do yourself a favor (unless you got extra cash) and get 60D.
I owned all 7D, 1D3 and 5D2 in past and loved them all (specially 5D2 for its IQ, 1D3 for AF and 7D ammmm what i can say).
But again go down to VIVO city and try camera there before buying it (they will have a few camera, maybe also will have 60D).

Thats the nature of ppl, they want to get sharp and crisp image at 100%.
Like others i also do pixel peep but again i try to be realistic. I took following picture with 7D if i do pixel peep then for me this picture has too much noise but overall picture look very sharp and printable to me (some post-processing is always required).

Welcome!

Hi, The problem is camera weight and size that could be carried around easily whenever and wherever, otherwise, go for the best that $$ can buy and no need to go any
further than that because the best is what we want.
