Looks like Canon has reserved this function for their single digit xD cameras from now on.

wow I must say I'm thoroughly disappointed with the 7D. All the pent up excitement just went "poof". It's more like a downgrade than an upgrade to me. And that basic+ mode will invite more of those people who buy DSLRs and use them on green auto... Looks like everything non-1 digit is aimed at prosumers already, Canon must be forcing people to get 7D by removing the option in between. Looks like I'll settle for good ol' 50D, new or second hand. That or saving up for a 7D.

You meant 60D?

If you decide to go for 7D instead of 60D, then Canon's marketing department has make the right decision to 'downgrade' the 60D...
