i'm more interested in the new kit lens
though it's stated that only cosmetic changes have been made
i secretly hope they improve the already good IQ of the kit lens
(remember the unexplainable jump in IQ just because they added IS even though the optic formula remains the same??? i hope they made even more fine adjustments which would make the decent kit lens even better)

I’m excited about canon’s entry in this segment, but I can’t help feeling that a Canon system would necessarily require new lens purchases. So many of Canon’s current lenses now seem all too big to be mounted on a mirrorless system.
Even the nifty 50 1.8 is big compared to all the other mirrorless pancake primes. Heck, it’s BIGGER than Oly’s kit zoom!

the Canon Europe advert should be shot with the 600D to demonstrate its pluses. but they chose the 1Dmk4 and 5Dmk2 to make the video.. :sweat:

At the end of the day.... for me, the quality of the pictures is the most important to me.. not the cam body..... or lens...

Don't be, I still own and regularly use a 20D. The only thing 'malu' about it is the small LCD screen. IQ wise, it is still very impressive by today's standard.

early indications is that this camera will be shipping in April. the question is whether sg will get it early or not.
At the end of the day.... for me, the quality of the pictures is the most important to me.. not the cam body..... or lens...
actually i am just teasing those gear-hogs, always showcasing the latest most shiny cameras/lenses. :bsmilie:
If they actually used the 600D to take the video, they would also use a couple of L lenses like 50/1.2L and then show you the 600D with the kit lens in the ad, misleading consumers who know nothing into thinking that their 600D kit can take those videos with creamy backgrounds :bsmilie:
The only changes from the 550D I see are the flash commander mode and the articulating screen. The sensor hasn't changed I think. I don't see why that needs a new camera.
