I got more pictures in my album ...

Hmm, I love some of these shots but one criticism I have is the model Elise -- she's absolutely gorgeous but if she does not show her teeth when she smiles then all the photos look insincere and fake. It's basic human body-language right there and it was my first and immediate impression.

If she's not going to show teeth when she smiles, maybe she is better off not smiling at all, and instead she should maybe go for a more sensual and pouty look. Lord knows she's beautiful enough to pull that off. Smouldering!

EDIT: edited for clarity, and to say that I'm not trying to put Elise down or anything like that, but that it for me just removes any punch the photos may have had. I'd say: don't smile, stare into the lens and give the viewer shivers!

how come no messy hair and poor lighting to go with this  can post a few :what:

Hi thedellis, thank you for the feedback. I sincerely appreciate it. :) I agree with you that if I do not show my teeth when I smile, I'll look insincere and fake. The reason for not smiling with my teeth seem is a large portion of my gum is visible when I do that and I look ugly with it.

Yes, sensual and pouty look is more suitable for me and it is closer to my personality. Here are a few photos of me with a sensual and pouty look. Thank you Thierry Delarue for these photos.

I have met many photographers, usually those newbies, asking me to smile and give a smiley look. That's not my style and is unsuitable for me. I did explain to these photographers at times yet I'm simply a model who is paid to pose. Customers do get piss off if you "teach" them a little. They may think you are throwing your weight around and feel "what's the **** you know?" :(

Of course, I have met photographers who know the look I can portray and suitable for me, including you. I enjoy working with these photographers and the photos are more "elise".

Seriously, I'm having problem deciding if I should insist potraying a sensual and pouty look at all time or what...

I always wonder why some photographers always want models to portray smiley look. It gives the impression that they only want to create a "happy portfolio". Can anyone answer this? :dunno:

your looks can kill me too, no need to smile

Elise,

I really appreciate your even-handed response -- I was a little worried that I might have offended you as that certainly was not my intention whatsover. If you already know your own strengths and weaknesses then that's great -- you'll go much further with that confidence and knowledge. As the old saying goes, you work with what you have, and Elise, wow -- you've got a lot! (EDIT: Your images just loaded, and I repeat: wow!)

I do agree that there is a tendancy for the for smiley/happy/cutesy look happening and that's fine, however there's much to be said for the sultry/womanly look too. In fact I much prefer shots that convey passion and emotion over those that portray cuteness.

Dellis, don't worry about it. Even though I'm not a photogapher but I'm here to learn too. I believe as a model I don't simply pose and forgot. I need to look at the photos taken and reflect on my poses too. Once again, thank you for the feedback. :)

Perhaps my eyes can kill and that's why my students behave well the moment I stare at them. However, I find that I my eyes look fierce and small.
