sometimes these sellers either no common sense or self denial.

what makes them think that ppl will buy their 5D at the price they asking for which could easily fetch a brand new set with ZERO shutter count with some top up.

unless their 5D got something that a brand new set dun have :bsmilie:

even if the px dropped to 3163, lowest recorded so far... they are already out of stock i believe frm those shop... think next lowest is 3.2k to 3.3k liaoz... for 2.6k... can ask them to dream on.... perhaps 2.9k for a warrantied set is more reasonable...

Different opinion from different perspertive.
Since I am also aiming at 5DII, I would stand at the buyer side.
So 5DII seller in B&S section, please be realistic when you post your ad. Or else you should just keep it for yourself till the 2nd-hand value falls lower. :vhappy:

No, the price did not fall much because all the sellers are holding up the prices well. Why? This is because it is the cheapest and good Canon FF model now.

Wait till the price of 5D mk II drops to $2,200 range, then perhaps the 5D mk I will go down at most to $1,500.

i just got mine from ms.. mine also was from a kit set.. but they give me the box that was my first question after knowing that the body will be from the kit.. dont want to go home without a box

anyway i think of another solution already, i ask those who pm me about sharing this purchase with me (me get body they get lens) to check again if they still keen on the lens, then i top up and buy the kit set then sell off the lens to them. if not no choice had to wait. :cry:

Well, to those waiting to get a FF DSLR, I can't think of a better time!

As an owner of a fully functional 5D, I still can't think of enough reasons to get (as opposed to upgrade) to a 5D2.

Perhaps I'll look at it again once I upgrade my Mac, I can barely stand the present 5D raw image processing speed as it is. :bsmilie:

Is that so? I would think that since the 5D2 which has the best FF sensor out there has a price cut, the other FF bodies like the 1Ds3, 1Ds2 and 5D especially would lower their prices to compete. Of course there are some that will still stick to their prices because they don't need to sell in a hurry, but I'd think that the 5D prices will lower a bit since the 5D2 is now easier to reach.

Potential 5D upgraders might also sell their 5D's to upgrade to the 5D2 and saturate the market, no?

1ds3 and 1ds2 is different league compared to 5D/ 5D2 so even if one day 5d2 drop to 2k+ first hand and the price for 1ds series wont have much difference maybe 100-300 for 1ds2.

Anyway, I am just playing around. and I think the ISO control.. to have to depress the button and then scroll the top simultaneously is a chore.. you can't really look into the viewfinder when you do that. It'd have been good if there is a ISO priority option too like Tv and Av.

Sorry to veer off-course here. What's the best free software for raw file processing? I read around in the posts.. downloaded Gimp but it couldn't take .CR file.
