I still need to get some use to MF lenses. Right now i still can't justify if i should or should not replace my 50 f/1.2L with the ZE 50 f/1.4 or even the ZE 85 f/1.4.

Snoweagle, you shud keep your 50 f1.2L as it's a gem. If I can afford all the Ls I will stay with Canon rather than all the hassle. If you want to try, pick up a cheap Zeiss CY mount 50 f1.7 or even one of those OM Zuiko 50 f1.8 for $100 or less.

I agree, why spend more for more hassle and on par IQ... well, I won't.

Well it's just a thought and i never said i'll definitely replace too.

Last Saturday, I shot my niece's wedding with 3 MF lenses, my CZ 50 f1.7 and 28 f2.8 in the day and the emarit 28 f2.8 in the night. I got 250 good shots out of 300, not bad for an amature with MF lenses.

heh, why distagon in the day and elmarit in the night?

No special reason. I was supposed to continue using the distagon in the night as I was more confident with it, espcially it's DOF at f4 & f5.6. Changed my mind the last minute and used the elmarit instead. Both lenses were supperb, especially with flash, at f5.6, practically just "point and shoot" actually.

you've got really good lens man. i'm envious!

Don't, as they don't add up to one expensive "L". Saw your other post. I have a $90 Pentagon 50mm f1.8 and it shoots just as well as my OM Zuiko 50mm f1.4. Funny thing, I sold my 70-200 f4 L IS USM to buy both the 28mm distagon and elmarit plus a Mamiya Sekkor 55mm f1.4 and still had some change for a B & W UV filter.
