5D2 together with a 15mm and an EF-S 10-22mm attached to customized camera. They are soaked in Nitrogen gas for cooling and tested working under extreme temperature & altitude

Interesting. I watched the event live wondering what equipment they were using.

wow... haha...so this means that future space tourists may be able to bring their trusty canons along :p

then again, DSLRs have been brought into the space shuttles and ISS for ages, coming from the brand that shall not be named here :p
 

Great to see that our DSLR can survive under such harsh conditions.

You've just pointed out the beauty of subtle marketing. Of course there may be a chance that the team happened to have some EF equipment lying around to use. But more often than not, especially in such a high profile stunt, it was there cuz Canon offered their gears for them to use.
