5D III street price for body or kit set

So I went down to Parisilk today and asked the gentlemen over there, they said it would be coming next week or so, "No Confirmation".

I was disappointed but at least it was a honest reply rather earlier on the phone with the lady, she said this friday? Yeah right.

Anyway, i asked whether i could do a deposit and they don't accept it.

Yesterday someone told me to try Song Brother at Sim Lim.

Despite knowing their reputation, while on my way. I dropped by there.

There was a PRC sales girl on the counter, she quoted me $4.6k and after i said nevermind, another sales man came and offered me $43???. I said alright then i'll take it but he said after GST, the total would be $4600 and i could do a tax refund at the airport? My face went totally black and i said, "dude i'm not a foreign."

For those who are still trying their luck getting street price for the camera this week, all the best. I'm done with all my scouting. The best thing to do right now is just wait.

Sorry but the shop owner told me to be discrete on the price, but it's a good price

i think the logical way for price to be discrete means the price is more controlled (competition) as of today onwards???
heard that our oppo camp had jacked up their price on D8xx too.

some people do get preferential rates, and thus that rate will be a secret.

I was having a BBQ today at east coast and when unexpectedly a shop called and told me the stock for 5D Mark III just came in. I rushed down and bought it before the shop closes. Got mine at $4295. :bsmilie:

I got it from the first batch from my favorite shop at only $40++. it depends on how much you know the shop and also to use a little brain juice to work out the figures on how you can get it cheaper. Happy shooting, its the weekends!
